Neighborhood: Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

The food is amazing and cooked to the exact preference. The steak was really nice. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We had a great lunch, and I am planning a return visit after the lockdown

We went here with our family and enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Great service and hospitality from the staff made the whole thing a wonderful experience.

Had lunch today at The Cow. We all had different dishes and they were all great. Staff looked after us very well. Only a small place but well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Never again !! One star and that’s because the food is great ....the oysters , chicken Kiev all great .

We loved this place but rude staff who really didn’t seem like they wanted you there and a bouncer at the door as if I was entering a nightclub ...

Get some friendly staff and we will be back !

Oh I loved this place! Totally London experience. This is the place to go for great fun, music, happy and handsome crowd! Oysters with Guinness (yummy!), crab, brown shrimp - excellent beef too (and the mashed potatoes). The staff was very, very, very friendly (I really can't understand the other reviewers!!). Expected a normal restaurant and discovered a bustling, lively, amazing place, with great music. (Don't go if you don't like noisy places though).

The Cow in Notting Hill is riding high on an undeserved reputation for fresh seafood in a trendy atmosphere...the experience is something quite different.

If that if fresh seafood, then London is in serious trouble. 5 out of 5 of our dinner party were sick beyond belief from the oysters, two were hospitalised over night and put on emergency drips. To top it all off, the Cow denies all responsibility! Congratulations for the worst evening on record. The health inspector should pay a visit...

Hi, I am the owner of the Cow. We have been established for 18 years. We have served hundreds of thousands of Oysters to happy Clams over the years without issue. This instance has not been reported to us, nor have the local authorities been notified. An accusation of this type is serious and I don't think it should be published unless proven, for all we know it could have been posted by someone with malicious intent.

I only wish I had read the TripAdvisor site before going...I could have avoided what my fellow London Tripadvisor described as the 'worst evening on record'. The Cow managed to top my list too. I was there for an evening with a group of friends (at my suggestion!) and we all got terrible food poisoning too (we are not sure if it was the pre-cooked prawns and crab, or the oysters! This is only a place to send your worst enemy...

We were lured into assuming that this would be a good meal, by the location, menu and smiley customers. We were seated by one of the rudest people I have ever been served by. We were made to feel guilty for simply being there. Any requests for service were met with scowls. The crab pasta was underseasoned, lukewarm and bland. If I'm paying nearly a tenner for a plate of pasta, I expect to be wowed. It is after all, traditionally eaten as an in-between course rather than a main. We wanted pudding, but were told that other people wanted our table, so if we ordered it we'd have to be quick. I asked if our table was booked out and the response was a 'no'. Despite wanting to stay there all night just to deliberately annoy our unbelievably aggressive waitress, we left as we weren't enjoying ourselves. We were in and out within 45 minutes as we were so rushed. It was suppoed to be a nice chilled out evening, catchnig up with an old friend. Instead the three of us left miserable and wishing we'd gone somewhere less pretentious.

We joined a dinner party at the Cow restaurant in Notting hill recently. We were 4 friends and there were other guests as well. We were very excited about this party but reckless enough to try ''FRESH OYSTERS'' of which this particular reasturant boasts of being one of the Top places in London. The next day we were all sick with fever, terible tummy ache, weakness, dizziness and headache. We could bearly walk. It's terrible. We are sick 2 days now and fortunately today we are feeling better. One of my friends did not try any of the ''fresh oysters'' and he is absolutely fine. It is very important to mention that I had oysters at the same place 1 year ago and I had the same symptoms.. I am a big fun of this kind of food and I have eaten oysters many times in my life. The fact that I experienced food poisoning symptoms twice at the same place is just OUTRAGEOUS!!

Most people I know complain about airport food. Including me until now.
The Marriott hotel is actually a short 6 minute walk from Gatwick airport. Even if your not staying there but want a great meal. Check this place out. (Excuse the pun!). We had the steak dinner for two. Was definitely nervous about this one as we are very particular about our steak. The food turned out to be amazing. The staff were fantastic and the view was of an old English pub they decided to keep on the hotel grounds.

(Disclaimer. I don't believe in negative reviews. If I don't enjoy my experience I just don't go back. Life is to short to even relive a negative experience. But if it's great, why not tell as many people as possible, to ensure their continued success.)
