The area
Neighborhood: Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
How to get there
  • Notting Hill Gate • 4 min walk
  • Queensway • 5 min walk

Visiting the bar is a must

Crazy bohemian bar with sloping floor. Drinks served from grand piano. Decor and furnishings madly eclectic. A real hidden treasure.

A must see if you like old theatres. Great job in trying to restore it!
Jun 2017 • Couples
The Print Room is a theatre company that took over the Coronet in 2014. They have already achieved a working performance space that has great sight lines, quality sound and lighting. We saw Remnants a performance that was very emotive and well performed by 5 performers about the 1995 atrocities at Srebrenica.
Much needs to be done to fully restore this wonderful 1898 theatre. I imagine they would welcome a wealthy benefactor or two to aid this very worthwhile project.

Great production of Babette's Feast - rather crumbly theatre...
May 2017 • Couples
You can book on line. It is a relatively small theatre. I rang to check the eyeline. I was advised that the front row is level with the stage. The second row had the best views. The first half dozen rows were £28. The remaining rows just £20. I am sure you'd be able to see and hear wherever you sit.

The theatre is really run down, which is aided in appearance by the decor. The bar, for example is furnished with shabby furniture, lots of rugs and dim lighting.

The current production was very enjoyable, well written, well acted and well directed. Go to see it while you can!

Must visit if you liked movie "Notting Hill"
Sep 2016
I loved movie "Notting Hill" so I decided to have a short walk there. And it was worth it, as you can feel mud of running city in old good British style...

went to see Deathwatch on Saturday night and it was a totally lovely evening. The candlelit bar is enchanting and the whole place really atmospheric. Do go along if you get the chance

Dance at The Print Room
Feb 2016 • Friends
We enjoyed Terra at The Print Room, and valued to fleece blankets provided on a chilly day!

This is a lovely space. The bar is a real find.. Do not miss this experience, and have fun balancing a drink purchased from a grand piano on a wonky table placed on a sloping floor. Such a refreshingly quirky change from the usual sterile bar formulae. Mirrors on one wall, handbags on another, rugs liberally strewn, and the odd shoe last. A fun experience.

A real gem

Glad to see this old cinema theatre being used to produce stage plays. I was very impressed when I saw The Cocktail Party here. A very spacious stage allowing for entertaining viewing.

If you want your London experience to feel very much London-y, schedule time, or wander in spontaneously as we did on a late Tuesday afternoon, and catch a show. It seems that it is THE thing to do while in the Notting Hill neighborhood, because just before showtime, the place was packed! Every single seat was taken! It's a small, old theater where one can buy beer or wine and drink during the show, and where everyone seems to be in the same "club." It has a strong neighborhood feel, and left us with one of our strongest and best memories of our trip to London. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Value and authenticity
May 2014 • Friends
If you are looking for value for money and quality of experience the Coronet is for you.

I go often, the listings are usually current, the price a steal for London. The venue is a nostalgic old theatre with two auditorium's. The smaller being a comfortable cosy room where it is not unusual to sit aside singletons eating anti pasti from a homemade tray. The other offers a choice of stalls or circle, the seating is a tad rigid and cramped but it is worth it for the whole experience.

Nostalgic cinema
Mar 2014 • Friends
Really cool place to watch a movie, 2 screens, one in the smaller theatre and the other in the larger one which has an option to sit in the circle upstairs - just like in an actual theatre!

Been there a few times, both as a student a few years back and more recently, on their Tuesday half price deal. I don't think you can find another place in London that matches it! Both price and unique character!
