We used British Tours for two private tours in London and two in Paris. In London, we took a seven hour city tour with Rafe as our guide and Rafa as our driver, in a very comfortable mini bus. They were both wonderful. Rafe was very knowledgeable and funny. He tailored our tour on the fly for our family of... More

Our driver picked us up at the cruise terminal. We were able to visit Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge before our airport drop of at 1 PM. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had everything pre arranged for our tours. They were great to work with.

Overall, it was a great experience with British Tours. The insight and knowledge imparted was superb. I felt like we were being treated to parts of London that we otherwise wouldn't see and I really enjoyed our time on this experience. The one negative thing, as other people have mentioned, is that it really is quite expensive. However, I still... More

This was our third day trip with Jonathan. It could not have been better. He gave us plenty of information but did not chatter excessively. We were able to set the pace and select not only the places we visited but also where we ate.

Tour guide was great for his knowledge and friendliness. We had seven of us and the tour could not have been any better. The entire family had a great time and very satisfied.

We booked a private tour with Claude, and we weren't disappointed. He knew everything about everything. Claude was well versed on WW-I and WW-II, and he knew everything about the Normandy Invasion, including information on the military equipment and strategy. We enjoyed our day. It was the highlight of our 18-day trip!

We booked our tour whilst still in Australia. We organised a private car for 6 of us as we did not want to be on large tour bus. We stayed in London and were picked up at our hotel. Our driver, Alastair was fantastic. He was so knowlegeable about everywhere we visited and organised our day to maximism everything we... More

The day tour to the Midsomer Murder set locations was wonderful. Seeing the real life Corston and Badgers Drift where Barnaby solves his murder mysteries make you feel you are part of the cast. A big thank you to Mike, our guide.

We took a private tour of Hampton Court Palace with Sam, who was outstanding. The entire event was well-organized from pickup at hotel, to travel, tour, and return. We found Sam to be very knowledgeable and personable, and our three young boys especially took to him. The range of topics we discussed were varied, including history, architecture, art and design,... More

We recently chose British Tours for the independent portion of our trip. From the outset the office staff were prompt in their correspondence and helpful in arranging tours. The office was proactive in alerting us to special events subsequently announced, which could interfere with our tours, and suggested alternative changes, to give us the maximum comfort and enjoyment possible. Our... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
