This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighborhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

This company runs both group tours that leave at predetermined times from specific locations, and private tours. You want a private tour with pick up and drop off at the airport. Be aware that for whatever reason they really charged a lot for airport transfers for my parents (due to their age and stage I didn't want to risk a taxi ride for them). It was annoyingly high considering that we were spending a whole week touring with their company. Enough so that I arranged a simple taxi for the rest of us. You might do better to get a taxi to a specific location (downtown, or Windsor per the other response), and pick up a group tour at that site or wander on your own. In 3 h you could definitely do the Tate Modern and Borough Market, walk along the river and see the Globe theater, for example, on your own.

Hi, we did the British Tours private plane D-Day tour from London. There are other tours but make sure you are comparing like with like. Our tour started from the moment we were collected and included an aerial tour as well as the ground tours in Normandy. Other tours will fly you to France, but the tour only starts when you are on the ground. Obviously there is a lot to be seen from the air. Our tour was cancelled twice due to weather but eventually we had a beautiful sunny day, so you need to be a bit flexible with dates. The cost is the same for 2 or up to 7 people so you can share the cost if you have some friends. I highly recommend this tour, even those of us not so interested in the war history really enjoyed it.
