Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances. Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

Wow, doesn't even describe this experience. It was amazing. I had seen it in the States a few times and liked it. I visited London a few times before I saw it. I always thought, since I had already seen it, it wasn't worth the...More

There's nothing to dislike about this amazing show. You just have to look at how long Phantom has been around to see how popular it is! The music is a work of genius, and will get stuck in your head for days on end, the...More

A great show well worth seeing with beautiful music and songs. It cannot be compared to some of the rubbish presently being shown in the West End.

Comparing to Les Miserables I wouldn't say this is an exactly intellectual storyline, but who cares it is great entertainment. I found the theatre very old fashioned cosy & attractive [although seats a tight fit], & staff & ushers were friendly & helpful. The story...More

Great story, very well staged. The music is fabulous. This show is still performed in the same Theatre as it was when it opened many years ago. A hit that will run forever. Not to be missed.

We are not Opera buffs but you could not help but to enjoy this performance. The cast was brilliant and we loved every moment of the music and singing.

One of the longest running shows in London and understandably so. 'Phantom' still looks fresh and plays to packed houses most of whom love it. Added to the show is the thrill and ambience of a beautiful Victorian theatre on Haymarket. We've been many times...More

St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier
destination for high end craft and bespoke design.
Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing

We're looking at having a trip to London and see the musical at the end of this year (Dec 2017) or early next year (Jan - Feb 2017). I was wondering if it's possible to know who's performing for the date, or roughly , especially when the current Phantom (Ben Forster) only mentioned extending his run until September 2017 (I read this from the theatre's website)?

Your best bet is the Theatre's website as you've already examined. The good thing about the show is it's always popular and whether Ben stays or moves on, they'll be the first to publish news of it. I went around new year... More
Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows who played "The Phantom" during the show on May 11th, 2017 in London by any chance ? I really love the performance of "The Phantom" that night but don't know who played it. Ben Forster should have played it but i heard that he injured his foot some days earlier so I am not sure if he was actually playing. Can anyone help with this? Many thanks. x

If the Phantom actor you saw had a deeper singing voice, it was Scott Davies. If not, then maybe it was Luke McCall. He is an understudy for the Phantom.
