Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her...more

Great show, worth to see for everyone. This musical was built at 1986, so it's one of the oldest shows of this genre in London.

I have seen Phantom a few times and can honestly say that this was one of the best! Tim and Amy were fantastic as the Phantom and Christine, great voices! The whole production was outstanding.

What can I say- I LOVED the musical and didn't want it to end. It was even better than the film. The costumes, the dancing, the singing, the props- All outstanding! I especially loved the boat scene! I highly recommend going to watch this musical...More

Visited this musical and wasn’t disappointed. Theatre is fairly small and seats a little too close together. Show was good, wished they had played the main song more than once ie once in the first half and once in the second half ? I knew...More

I am not a big fan of musical theatre. But I got the tickets and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This performance was a great show plus a lot of elements that were more like opera then musical theatre. Great stage effects,...More

My wife and I were greatly disappointed at this show as we were expecting quality along the lines of Les Miserables. The acting and singing were almost amateur in level and we just could not connect with any of the characters. Also, at a shade...More

A must see musical on your list to see. Beautiful costumes, lovely singing, wished it went on for longer.

We went to see this show last week and it was fantastic! The atmosphere, the cast, the performance all excellent! The theatre itself is also very impressive and just adds to the whole atmosphere. The show was fully booked on the night we went, and...More

I have never seen an opera or anything like it before so had no idea what to expect, it was completely amazing!! Some people would disagree as my aunt and uncle didn’t enjoy it when they went but opera isn’t their cup of tea. There...More

I have seen Phantom of The Opera before over in Toronto approximately 20 years ago, and this was a birthday present for hubby. We were seated in the royal circle as I remembered that some of the production was up high and we had excellent...More

St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier
destination for high end craft and bespoke design.
Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing

Would it be better to book now (i.e. really early) for 'Phantom of the Opera' or would I get a better rate at the last minute? I'm looking at July. Are there any websites where you can compare rates? Thank you

Look at tkts.co.uk. This will tell you which shows are discounted each day, and currently you can get tickets for today for Phantom. If you monitor this for a week or two you will see which shows routinely have last minute cheap tickets. You are unlikely to get tickets at a discount for anything this far ahead. That said, July & August do see a lot of tourists in London and this is a show that is very popular with tourists. If not seeing Phantom would ruin your visit to London then buy...More
London with the mums! (2 Replies)
Hey everyone, this is an unusual question! I'm planning to head to London with my friend and our mums, both in their 60s/70s. We're taking them to watch phantom of the Opera but I thought it would be nice to take them out and about a bit first. My friend and I have been to London loads over the years and do all the usual touristy haunts and shops but I was hoping for some suggestions where we could take them? Their both lovely homely type mums and aren't into big shops and drinking, or...More

<<some interesting places for them to visit>> - my wife and I are in the same age bracket as your mums. In our tourism holiday in London earlier this year we were particularly impressed by touring the inside of Houses of Parliament and the Churchill War Rooms. Both very interesting.
Phantom in Paris (1 Replies)
Does anyone know if the play "Phantom of the Opera" appears in Paris anywhere? I will be there for Christmas and had hope to see if.

Penny, check parisinfo.com occasionally for information about current shows in Paris. If Phantom isn't showing, they have just extended Cabaret at the Folies Bergeres through January '08. I strongly recommend you consider that as a alternate choice if Phantom isn't on when you're there. It's been getting rave reviews.
