Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.

The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

Wonderful again

The music of Phantom of The Opera was wonderful. I reserved same day tickets with slightly restricted view, though it was fully ok, as the performance was amazing.

Phantom of the Opera is our favorite play so we pre-purchased tickets for our trip to London. We were in the Stalls and found the seating to be very tight. Once seated, the knees are against the seat in front and there was no room for others to pass so all must rise when an interior occupant needed entry/exit. This... More

I have found discounted tickets on some website and, fortunately, they were not fake. I should say: to watch Phantom of the Opera in the theatre is quite different experience. Decorations and costumes are, however, are as impressive as in the movie or even better, because you realize how much work is done. To be sincere, I didn’t like the... More

First visit to this show even though lived near London for over 30 years. Scene changing and sets are amongst the best I have seen on the London stage.Costumes and special effects also amongst the best. Music is excellent, singing is good , particularly by the female artists but male lead parts only average. Do not expect operatic quality but... More

This was my secound visit to the theater, it was great, outstanding, didnt take my eyes away. Everything about it the outfits, were great some unexpected changes from the stage work. The only negatives I could say is we were in the stalls towards the front and the leg room was poor. So for any 'larger folks' you may want... More

The show was perfect. Wish they included the song "LEARN TO BE LONELY" at the end. Be sure to purchase tickets beforehand.

You really can't beat this production on many levels. On one hand its superb lack of meaningful plot, character development, and interest. It's an absolutely astonishing victory for advertising, proving of course that anything can be sold to the majority if you combine an upward-rising chromatic scale with a downward moving one (to disorient them) steal some Puccini to provide... My third visit to this brilliant show and the first for my wife. The show is excellent with a very strong cast. We managed to get centre seat on row 3 of the stalls and the view was great. Thank you all so very much

This was my wife`s 76th birthday surprise for me. We sat just 4 rows from the stage, and after the curtain opened, I proceeded to be transfixed by a combination of theatrical, operatic & technical wizardry, the like of which I had never before seen in my life. Every single element of the presentation exceeded my critical threshold of genius,... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
