The area
Neighborhood: Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Perhaps my personal favourite because I was fortunate enough to live on the square for 3 years, as a student. MG became my hero in no time at all.
It's a quiet square & not that sunny either, but holds lots of memories for me.

Basically fine, but more of a rectangle than a square. I'd go back, but only if they changed the name.

This lovely garden square was beautifully bathed in autumn colours when I visited in November. Located near Euston station, the square is very easy to find. The centrepiece is a statue of Mahatma Ghandi and throughout the gardens are other features dedicated to peace. Tavistock Square also gained notoriety as being the site of one of four terrorist attacks in 2005.
For tourists, the square is a peaceful and relaxing park in amongst the chaos of central London. I enjoyed grabbing a coffee from the Starbucks on the east side of the square and meandered through the little park, enjoying its features and taking the weight off on one of the many benches. Plan for a short stop in Tavistock Park in amongst your other travels.

I wanted to somewhere to recover after a long journey and some air, and happened on this place just along from my accommodation. I appreciated that it was clean, some animals going around and a nice mix of people going around - students, suits, dog walkers and some tourists. I must’ve been there 15 mins or so before I realised it was squirrels scampering about, I was busy on my phone. 10 more later, I was still sat, doing my own thing, any one of the nosey buggers climbed right up to my shoulder checking me out, presumably for something to eat. Whilst they’re cute, and vermin, please do be responsible in what you do feed them if you’re going to.

This is one of a series of lovely squares in the Bloomsbury area of London. Nice for a walk, for reading, for picnics, etc. Also has a statue of Gandhi in the middle. Have a look if you are passing and pause in the green space.

Lovely square, very scenic, loads of history and things to see. A really nice place to sit down and read a book or just listen to the birds and reminisce about the past, and plan for the future. Some nice statues to see, history and opposite the Tavistock hotel. Not far from a number of good eateries and a nice place to sit with friends.

My wife and I rarely use the underground or buses in London unless there’s inclement weather or we’re going from one end to the other - Tavistock Square is regularly en route (from Kings Cross to the West End) and we regularly stop for a break.
The Square has memories close to my heart, one of the four London bombs was detonated here back in 2005, as a Londoner I think about it and say a prayer every time we stop.
