One of the most crowded places we have been to in the 3 weeks we have been visiting major London attractions. Lots of fun though, geared mainly towards younger aged clientele. many merchants in the food section were offering tasters, by the time I sampled them, I was not even hungry. We then walked through the nearby streets, colorful, decorated with graffiti and other crazy decor, bought some reasonably priced souvenirs. Great if you have a spare time in the city.

Probably the largest street market in London; with hundreds of shops. Most of the shops sell cheap souvenirs and if you buy in volume you can always negotiate a cheaper price. Lots of different food kiosks as well. Some of the shops have interesting sculptures attached to the front of the stores.

What a quirky place this is! From walking from the tube, past all the wonderfully bright and colourful shop fronts to the lock and then the market itself, great! We visited on a Tuesday morning(mid) and to be fair not a lot was open. There was plenty of food stalls open and a smattering of other vendors but alas I think we were there just a bit too early to experience it fully. This didn't put us off , we will be returning another time just a bit later on in the day to hopefully get the full camden market feel!

Disappointed to be honest, I was expected a old style market with good deals in. Most markets are fixed buildings with very over priced item for sale. I didn’t actually seen anyone buy anything.
Would return for the atmosphere of the area but not the markets

10 minutes on the underground from the city centre is Camden Town and Market. The area is very Hip and Bohemian. Lots of street art (tasteful, not tags or graffiti). The market itself wasa good size with so many warrens and quirky stalls, sellers etc. It can be a pick pockets paradise given the narrow alleys and large crowds but other than that, the whole vibe is a relaxed one.
There is lots to see and a few eateries. CyberDog is worth a visit (you will know when you have found it) lol.
I am not sure what I expected but left feeling that I had "done" it but was not memorable. Don't think I would return but if you have a travel pass and a spare hour, get yourself along :)

Was OK for a day out, though personally I don’t think I would want to go again. I found it all very expensive, though my daughter liked the Jeans shop where you could pick up a pair of Levi’s for £15. Food was a bit limited, I am on a low carb diet so can’t have pasta, rice, potatoes or bread, so didn’t have anything to eat! Whilst we were there we took a very nice trip down the canal on The Music Boat, Where we were serenaded by an excellent singer who played his guitar. A lovely 45 minute trip.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in January with 2 tweens. I expected it to be busy but it was packed and not comfortable to move around. The food options at the lock all looked and smelled delicious, we sampled a few but the crowds and the birds and pigeons flying everywhere did not make an enjoyable experience. 3 of the 4 of us ended up with droppings all over our clothing and there is no-where to go to escape them. Although the food we had was tasty, the prices are very steep…£8 for a hotdog, £7 for 8 halloumi fries, £4 for a churro…soon adds up when you’re a family of 4. The whole place was pretty grubby too. I understand that a lot of people love it but it definitely isn’t for everyone!

Oh what a shame! What have they done to Camden and the market? I've spent many an hour here soaking up the vibe and spending too much on artisan accessories, clothes and jewellery in the past so took my daughter this past weekend.
The high street is lined with tatty shops - the one we went in wouldn't accept cards and was selling vapes which are not legal in this country. When I said I preferred to pay by card because of Covid, he insisted that Covid was gone!
The food stalls are still great and we had a superb brunch in the Lost Elephant's Kitchen which I would highly recommend, and the vibe and live music were still uplifting but the shopping is very tired indeed. We were really disappointed and particularly missed the canalside stalls. The new building is a monstrosity - no idea what they were thinking. What a shame (as I said at the beginning).

Variety of shops! From goth to nerdy stuff to historical pieces.
My fave has to be the moomin shop that is nearby the entrace, their products are so cute and somewhat cheap too! Food was also very tasty. I had some chinese and it was delicious.
But some sellers are so insistent on making you buy their products...even during the pandemic. This one vendor wanted my friend to buy a dress just because she seemed to like it. When my friend said that she will think about it, he insisted on making hee try the dress on and literally cinched her waist so suddenly! What a creep...
Also be aware of creepy men. As we ate lunch on a bench, some creepy dudes catcalled us and it was so uncomfortable. Apart from that nonsense, the market is not too shabby, albeit there was so many pricey products.

Blimey, what on Earth has happened to the place?? I used to visit here a lot with friends around 25 years ago. The High Street now has wall-to-wall shops selling key ring landfill cr@p. As for The Market, well it used to hip and cool with loads of second hand clothes and furniture stalls in the old stable courtyard and really cheap world food to be enjoyed on the move. Now all the stalls are in purpose built pods, the rent of which has pushed prices through the roof. Maybe a victim of the modern Health & Safety culture or just plain greed? Who knows.
But, trust me on this one; it is a shadow of its former self and no longer has the same chilled vibe. Shame.

Bonjour,
J’aimerais savoir si les magasins de vêtements sont ouverts à Camdem Town le lundi 18 avril 2022 (jour de Pâques). Comme c’est un jour férié j’ai peur que ce soit fermé quand on arrive.
Merci par avance.

Hi, we went a few weeks ago and bought a handmade alien/monster kind of toy/model thing that you could move and reshape from a bloke on a tiny stall just as you walk into the market. The lad was lovely and made them all himself. My son is Autistic/ADHD and he really loves it... can't remember the name of the stall ... can anyone help? Is he online at all?

Check the Camden Market website and see if there is any info there that can help. If not, you can always email them with the info you have and maybe they can help you figure out which stall it was... Good luck!

How would a debit card transaction show up on a bank statement if you bought from a stall or a pop up shop?

Having worked in a bank most of my life I can answer this!It will all depend on what name the stallholder has opened the account in-in my experience sometimes it's not a business name!
