So I contacted Photowalks of London and arranged a nighttime photo walk of London. We met at Westminster Station and wee off to a great evening. I've been doing photography for years but Spending time with Ian helped me remember some seldom used approaches and taught me some new ones. The walk was great for three reasons: Ian knows his... A little late in reviewing, but I last month on my honeymoon, I took 2 of these tours. A daytime and the evening tour. Ian was a great teacher of the photo world. He took the approach of, telling us what set our cameras to for the first few shots, then described what was happening, so that as we took... More

I signed up for this tour to do a little sight-seeing of London but mainly to learn to use my new DSLR camera. The tour was great! In a short space of time I learnt a lot about my camera and was able to take some great pictures both on the tour and later by myself. Highly recommended

Ian is an excellent host on this tour. He knows how to show you your camera's capabilities with practical exercises whilst photographing some of London's most famous sights. A fantastic couple of hours.

This was a mixture of a tour and a photography lesson. I did the St. Paul’s and Southbank tour and learnt a lot about how to take pictures of tourist sites in a more interesting and creative way. Plenty of individual attention, useful instruction and good tour guide spiel to boot.

I took a friend to this photo walk around Westminster on 18th August. We had a super time. Ian is just great, so patient and knowledgable about cameras. I developed a real understanding of my new camera and got some great shots. My friend took a normal digital camera and I had a digital bridge camera and there were others... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
