I did two tours in London several years ago by Sandeman's which were excellent. Coming back to London I chose the ale and alternative tours. The ale didn't end up running because I was the only person, but they refunded my money for the tour, and the alternative tour! The guide, Charlotte, even gave me a short version of the... More

Our tour guide Trevor took us to see many of the key spots in cental London within 2.5h, which is exactly what you want when you're only visiting for the weekend! The stories were entertaining, our guide was really fun and surely an expert in British history, we learnt and laughed a lot. Thank you so much :-)

I've taken Sandemans New Europe tours in Berlin, Prague, Dublin and Edinburgh, and always loved them; as a friend was in town, I figured I could wile away the time by exploring my own city - London - with her, and Andy was a fantastic tour guide. Clearly passionate about his tales, particularly War history, it was incredible fun, and... More

We had a great time on the free Westminster/Royal tour with Becky. She was a lot of fun, very animated with great stories along the way. I love how she had three running themes throughout the tour: 1) Londoners can't name anything; 2) Londoners love to drink; 3) Londoners love to protest. The tour was very entertaining and the time... Tour guide interrupted the tour multiple times throughout to deal with ticketing discrepancies and phone calls from Sandemans. Very difficult to hear tour guide a lot of the time over the hubbub of London. Maybe a microphone may help. Poorly planned in terms of toilet stops. Passed plenty of public toilets however guide decided to "allow us" to make a... More

We chose this tour because of all the great reviews on this site and because it's free. We went with our three kids ages 7, 9, and 11. We loved it. Angus was great and every member of our family had a good time. He had great stories that entertained us all. We recommend forcing all kids to go to... More

We enjoyed this tour so much that we would be happy to take it again with the same Tour Guide! Angus Templeton was the name of our guide and he made the tour so interesting with his knowledge of the history of London City. He is also an actor and his experience in his field makes his presentation incredibly enjoyable.... More

We did the free walking tour with Ivo, and it was outstanding, so much so that when we got to Edinburgh we looked up Sandemans to see if they had one there, as well (and they do). Ivo was not only knowledgeable, he was engaging and humorous. The time just flew by. I highly recommend this as one of the... More

I went on two tours; the free tour and the old city tour. Both with our lovely guide Angus, who made the time fly by (both the history of the city and us walking). Both serious with facts and funny with jokes; in short: a good mix. A good way to see London on foot; if you don't like walking,... More
