Address
Neighborhood: Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.

Overpriced and disappointing commercial experience
Nov 2021 • Couples
Very very overpriced and disappointing. Staff were miserable. Very small section dedicated to his life and work, not very inspiring immersive experiences in this section of the exhibition, apart from an interesting film on his work. Didn’t help that everyone is let in in one go, making it a bottle neck of people. This area is followed by a colouring room before being invited to pay an extra £5 per person for a VR experience. We didn’t want to do this having forked out £50 already. The final room is the immersive experience with films of his work which was lovely and relaxing and the only redeeming factor. Overall a very disappointing experience and not worth the very expensive ticket prices!

Event to be avoided
Nov 2021 • Couples
What an absolute rip off! We only spent 20 minutes in there and that’s only because it took us that long to walk through the whole ‘exhibition’. Bad colour copies stuck on walls, laughable grammar in the presentation. Most positive comment to be said is the toilets were clean. Complete waste of money - avoid!!

Projected images poor quality
Oct 2021
The power of his paintings are in the colour and the highlight - 360 degree projected images was very poor and lost colour. Apart from that who wants to pay over £20 to see copies. The reversed out boards - white wiring on black were interesting but difficult to read for older people and those with dyslexia. Far too expensive for what it is

Do not go. Not as advertised
Nov 2021 • Couples
Waste of money and not as advertised. Do not go.

The printed plastic sheets of Van Gogh’s painting are a mile away from the originals. Colours are grossly distorted and they’ve overused image enhancement and created effects that are not on the originals.

There is almost no attempt to tell a story. Just a few boards with lines of text. Didn’t appear to cover even his only selling one painting in his life. Nothing about the complex relationships with his art dealer brother who supported him but didn’t show his paintings.

And you will be completely underwhelmed by the projected immersive experience. Not only was it not in a large industrial space you could move around in as advertised, but only in a single room that you sat in, they couldn’t even be bothered to align the laser projectors and a lot of it was distorted by overlapping images.

Apart from collecting money from people, I cannot see what is actually on offer in return.

Do not bother.

I attended on November 4th at Commercial Street in London UK.

Enjoyable
Oct 2021 • Couples
Interesting reading other reviews. We arrived early and went in. Friendly staff. We had VIP tickets. Enjoyed the first part of reading about his life and seeing his paintings, some I knew some I didn’t. Loved the virtual reality experience, a real wow. The immersive room was wonderful we didn’t manage to get a deckchair but found another seat to sit on. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Better things to do in London
Sep 2021 • Couples
I had seen this advertised and something I really wanted to see so went with my partner. We paid 48 for two tickets. On arrival you get to see pictures of the paintings with sone information regarding each one. You then walk into a large area and there you see the paintings around you with music. There is limited areas to sit so you find a place to stand but end up with either people standing in front of you or we experienced loads of children bored so running about. You lose the immersive experience with this going on around you and we had completed the full experience within an hour. Whilst the pictures were nice the cost should be half of what they are charging and should provide adult only slots as whilst I love children this experience you want to appreciate it and didn't really get the chance. Wasn't worth the money.

Rubbish
Sep 2021 • Couples
One word RUBBISH not worth the money felt like I was in primary school sat on the floor covid definitely went out off the window the person who thought this was a good idea must off been on crack. All you do is watch videos about his paintings. Please don't waste your money, would rather stick pins in my eyes the go there again or do a 2 years prison sentence (MIKE DROP)

Very pleased to have been, greatly enjoyed it.

I am not usually an art appreciation person, but knew a little of Van Gogh.
This enjoyable experience gives a knowledge of the artist and his life.
You come away with an understanding of the paintings
You will forever know a van Gogh painting after this and realise that you were probably familiar with his work anyway.
The staff were fantastic - couldn’t be more helpful and pleasant.
I subsequently bought a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) for my son.
Ps Use toilets else where before going in as the loos are accessed via the end of the exhibition - SPOILER ALERT!

Not worth the money
Aug 2021 • Couples
We visited the London version of this and all I can recommend is that if you're truly interested in VVG, then read 'Van Gogh's Ear' and visit the National Gallery (or better, visit Amsterdam!)-much better options than patronising this. A little info on his life, poor quality prints of his work put onto canvas and then sitting in a four-walled cinema to be "immersed".
