For over more than 100 years the statue commemorating the famous detective Sherlock Holmes is placed outside Baker Street underground station in central London. The statue was installed outside Baker Street tube station. 221B Baker Street, the fictional detective's address in London =D

The Sherlock Holmes statue that guards Baker St is rather impressive and far taller than I expected, a nice idea for Londons most famous detective

During the early part of our most recent stay in London, we made a conscious effort to explore the parts of inner London that we had not visited during previous stays.
The first full day of this stay saw us taking an extended walk through Marylebone. After walking
around this inner London neighbourhood for some time, we headed up Marylebone Street towards the Baker Street tube station entrance.
We had used this tube station during previous stays in London and were aware of its Sherlock Holmes’ theme with silhouettes of the detective featured in the tiled walls alongside the platforms. However, we had forgotten about this statue of the fictional detective which is situated on Marylebone Road, adjacent to the tube station entrance.
The statue is a fascinating and interesting portrayal of the detectives dressed in his deer-stalker hat, cape and of course with his pipe in his mouth.
If you happen to be in the vicinity, it is worth a second or two of your time to have a quick look at this interesting statue!

It’s only a statue of Sherlock very very close to Baker Street 221b where his “home” was. Nothing special

This statue of Sherlock Holmes is by the sculptor John Doubleday. It stands near the supposed site of 221B Baker Street, the fictional detective's address.
This is a bronze statue and at 3m high is clearly larger than life. The statue depicts Holmes wearing an Inverness cape and a deerstalker on his head. In his right hand, Holmes is holding a pipe. A very stereotypical portrayal of the fictional detective. It's located just outside Baker Street tube station on Marylebone Road, near both the Sherlock Holmes Museum between numbers 237 and 241 Baker Street.
Definitely worth a look if in the area and combining with a visit to the equally fictional Sherlock Holmes Museum.

This statue of the great detective is made of bronze. Sherlock stands proud, pipe in hand, a true reflection of the man. Getting a picture can be difficult as there are lots of people walking past.

If you're a Sherlock Holmes fan, this is a nice photo op. Right outside of Baker Street tube station, this is a quick thing to tick off your London to-see list.

A tall bronze statue to a literary creation. Immediately adjacent to the entry of both Baker Street Station and The Metropolitan Bar.
