If you want to see some interesting, off the beaten track sites of the City this is a great way to do it. Couple that with some helpful photo tips and interesting historical facts and you get a wonderful few hours that are full value for money.

I had a great time on this tour. This was a really good "walk around" London experience. I highly recommend you do this earlier in your trip rather than later, as you may accidentally encounter some stuff/areas you have already been to.
As far as the secret "places" go, the tour guide will provide a brief history of your walk, which is interesting. So if you not into the "this building was where XYZ happened" do NOT do this tour. If you want a bit of history this is a good tour.
For the price, its a good value.

I had the great unforgettable chance to go on a tour with Corinna 4 days ago - just the two of us. She is so enthuastiastic about what she does, and she does it wonderfully ! We had so much fun, I felt immediately comfortable - and at the same time I learned so many things about the City, its history - and my camera !!! I got so much information, so many fantastic ideas, unusual pictures from different perspectives... (and I improved my English in the domain of "photographer's vocabulary"...:-). I hope I will never do boring pictures and typical "tourist photos" again (- like me in a red telephone box waving...)
This tour was a definitely a highlight of my London trip... I hope to come back again...

We toured the City in London with "Hairy Goat" and had a terrific time. Knowledgable, personable tourguide was very inclusive of everyone in the group. Learned a good bit about the old City and its history as evidenced by the current architecture. Added benefit of some expert assistance on using some advanced features of our camera and techniques that we had not tried before and we can use on our own.
You will have to take the tour to understand the "mystery" part but don't worry - the guide does not resemble the company name.

I went on the night tour near Parliament and captured some great photos of night lit London. Corinna was fantastic, there to aid you in capturing the perfect photo and also giving some great tidbits of history. The angles and sites are fantastic, not to miss. Would highly recommend this tour for the photo lovers visiting London.

There were history and photography lessons! This was fantastic way to learn to use our new camera and see the City at the same time. It was a small group of people, some
Resident, some tourists. Our guide made us all welcome and provided good advice on how to use our particular camera. This was a great Father's Day gift!

I went on a tour around the 'square mile' area of London city. Living in London myself it was great to find out some things I didn't know about the city and discover some great little locations that I didn't know existed. This, combined with some really useful advice on how to get some good pictures of the sights made for a thoroughly enjoyable walk. I would recommend Hairy Goat highly.

After reading about it on Trip Advisor, I booked a Hairy Goat Photography Mystery Tour and was totally pleased with the places Charlie showed us, the new ideas for creative photography and for using our equipment and how she responded to our individual needs. I will do this again the next time I visit London! I agree that Sunday is an ideal day to do the tour because of the lack of crowds. (When I had questions about the booking, Corinna responded to my e-mail in a timely and helpful manner.)

I'll provide a quick "Executive Summary" of my experience, as well as more detail for those who are interested.
Executive Summary - Corinna at Hairy Goat Photography Tours was professional, articulate, communicative and helpful from my first contact with her weeks before my trip right through to the end of my experience with her. As a professional photographer myself, I was looking for someone with local expertise who could introduce me to the world of long exposure night photography and customize the session to my specific needs. Corinna corresponded with me by email to confirm exactly the kind of outing that would meet my expectations, communicated clearly about where, when, and how we would meet up, showed up on time, took me to the locations I was interested in, coached me on the best settings to capture the "look" we were going for with each location, identified potentially interesting "night life of London" subjects on the fly, and generally went above and beyond to make sure I had the best experience possible. I would gladly recommend Corinna to either beginners or professionals looking for a guided photography experience in London!
Details: I am a professional photographer based in Florida, and I contacted Hairy Goat Photography when my family and I decided to take a 9 day vacation focusing on London. Initially, I needed some help deciding between what looked like a beginner's night photography group tour and a different group tour that looked like it might not provide any instruction. I also had conflicts with several group tour dates. But, after some correspondence, Corinna scheduled a personal night photography tour for me, on a date that was convenient for me, and customized the level of instruction for what I needed.
I already knew my equipment well, and I knew how to use it for portrait and landscape photography, but I had never attempted long exposure night photography before, nor did I know the best locations in London from which to shoot. My family's vacation schedule did not allow much free time for me to "experiment" with night photography, so Corinna's ability to quickly provide the missing pieces would be key to whether I was a happy camper or not. I also had to decide between bringing my own tripod on the trip or renting one from her (can't do long exposure photography without a tripod). Ultimately, I decided I didn't want to haul a tripod around with me for the whole trip, and I rented one from Hairy Goat. It was more than up to the task, and I was glad to have it just "show up" with Corinna when we met.
All of Corinna's emails were clear and well thought out. She was happy to answer all my questions, and she worked with me to make sure we had a plan in place that I was happy with.
On the night of the shoot, we met at a public place, and Corinna was there waiting for me when I arrived (which was actually a couple of minutes early). We started off at a brisk pace and walked across a significant amount of the riverbank in downtown London that night. At each location, she allowed me to choose what I wanted to shoot, select composition that I was happy with, etc., but if I requested her assistance or input/recommendations, she was always happy to provide whatever level of assistance I needed. She wasn't pushy at all, just very responsive and friendly. She was also very knowledgeable about London and its history, providing insight and commentary about the various locations as we made our way around the city.
In addition to shooting physical locations, we sometimes came upon people who represented some of the "nightscape" of London. A restaurant worker taking a smoke break in an alley and a street performer singing opera in a pedestrian tunnel for change both made compelling subjects for some on-the-fly street photography. In both cases, Corinna approached the individuals to get permission to photograph them, and both were very happy to cooperate. This added an unexpected and interesting aspect to the experience.
We covered all the sights I had hoped to shoot, as well as some additional "targets of opportunity." At each step of the tour, Corinna went above and beyond my expectations for the evening, which is saying something. At the end of the night, she made sure I had my transportation back to my hotel before she left for home herself. I got some phenomenal shots and was extremely pleased with the experience as a whole.
Corinna and Hairy Goat Photography will not disappoint.

Hello, is this just a photography tour or do they have a photography session.. Let me put this way.. We are visiting London from X'mas Eve to New Years Day.. We will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary there.. My wife is fond of collages and photos.. So I was planning to have a bride and groom kind of photo shoot in London for ourselves!!! So there were questions in my mind as:
- Is there any company who does so?
- Is yes, what about the costumes? I do not want to do the "Royal" photo shoot. More interested in a formal one with Bride Costume for my wife and may be Tuxedo for me..
- What are the charges for the shoot and the costumes..
Hope my wife doesn't read this or it will not be a surprise for her!!!
Thanking you all in anticipation!!!

Hello
We run a tour, the Personal Photographer Tour, which you will find under Photo Tours on our main menu on the website. Please have a look and see if it suits your request.
We don't provide costumes at all. Any extra arrangements apart from providing a photographer and an agreed quantity of photos sent electronically, would be organised by yourself.
From mid December to mid January we close down for all regularly scheduled events, apart from personal events such as this. Our photographers, tutors and guides use this time to have holidays with their family.
If you decide our options listed on the website will suit, please send an email to us directly. I can't attach a link on this site, but you will find our contact details on the website.
We need your preferred date and location option. We will then confirm photographer availability and start the booking process with you.
I hope that helps.
regards

what is cost of non photographer partner?

Hello,
We often have the request if clients can be accompanied by friends and family on any of our events, whether they are instructional or non-instructional. We do charge full price for the extra person, even if there is no intention of taking photos or learning.
Through experience, we have found we are teaching and interacting with the extra clients equally, and we don’t want to be in the position of discriminating with the level of attention given. It isn’t how we operate and we want everyone on our events to have equal time and attention. As the guides and tutors are paid per person, it eliminates any potential issues with clients and the guides if all clients have paid equally.
I hope that helps.

Hello
We hold a variety of tours, each with different start locations, length of time and they can be instructional (a lesson) or non-instructional. The best thing to do is look at the website, where you will find a very comprehensive page of information for each tour or tuition option. Plus you can book and pay online via the website or over the phone.
If the website doesn't answer all your queries, please don't hesitate to email me directly. I can't place website or contact links within this answer but you will find the details towards the top of the Hairy Goat listing on Trip Advisor.
Thanks.

Hello
thanks for your query.
Each of the tours and workshops has it's own meeting location around London. The details are on each tour page on the website and are also included on the confirmation email once a tour is booked and paid for.
The only time we ever collect clients from a hotel is if they have organised a private tour and that is included in the arrangements.

Sorry, I answered your query recently, but it seems to have disappeared from the site.
Each tour or workshop has its own meeting location and that is specified on the relevant page on the website. We also list this on the confirmation email which is sent once an event is booked and paid for.
We don't collect clients from a hotel unless they have organised a private event and that is part of the arrangements.
