About
Small-group tours (<10) for a more personal experience in Britain that combine history, present culture, and unique experiences. Hit the high points, explore a region, or pursue a special interest such as gardens, gourmet food, good libations, or even Harry Potter. As much as possible, we utilize local guides while staying and eating in family-owned establishments to support the local economy.

For my first trip to Britain in August 2016, I travelled with Britain Your Way Tour with Tour Manager Sheila Stone. She was knowledgeable, fun and flexible. She knows the history of Britain and their monarchs, plus fun local pubs, cafes and restaurants. In taking the Tube one time, the escalator wasn't working and she quickly adapted by taking other stairs to get back on the right side to get our correct train. One special evening, we took the train to Edinborough where she had reserved dinner for us at a special chefs monthly dinner which was conducted by four or five different chefs, each with a special dish or cuisine. We sat with a chef and restaurant owner, and his wife from Glasgow attending the dinner too!

In April this year I boarded a jet in Tampa ultimately bound for Scotland to meet with Sheila Stone and take a "Foodie Tour" of Scotland. I'd met Sheila a couple years earlier while doing a volunteer program in Spain, and had learned about her tour/travel business. This would be my first trip after the death of my wife of 46 years the prior fall, and I wanted to be in a small group with someone I already knew. My experience could not have been better. After a couple of folks cancelled, I became the sole member of the tour group. Sheila was already in GB spending time with other tours and house sitting so she was agreeable to continuing the tour with me.

I was unaware of the great variety of food I was going to experience...not to mention the whisky experience and gin experience. There was time for sightseeing in Edinburgh as well as a day trip to Glasgow. We met up with Lea a friend of Sheila's who is something of a food expert and spent a wonderful day with her and her husband touring the countryside and having a wonderful meal of grilled lobster by the sea.

If you are looking for a small group led my an extremely knowledgeable tour guide with great connections throughout Great Britain, you should seriously consider Britain Your Way.
