The area
Neighborhood: Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
How to get there
  • Charing Cross • 1 min walk
  • Embankment • 5 min walk

Really good fun! We live in London but it was a great way to spend a few hours and see some places we haven’t been to before, would definitely do another one.

Clues tend to lack detail to get you all the way
Sep 2018 • Friends
It took us 4,5 hours, excluding lunch break. The clues are not detailed enough to get you all the way to the end, without the hint you cannot solve it and get to your next point. Be aware that you will need to go into shops and pubs and get actual physical props to do the trail. It does take you through nice parts of Westminster and is a fun concept with some surprising cool tech.

Team building event
Aug 2018 • Business
We booked this as two teams competing against one another for a team building do. We were a 5 and 6 and everyone agreed that it was brilliant.

Starting with the slight issues:

The pub staff may need reminding and nudging along a bit, usually the managers knew what was going on so be prepared to ask more than once. We always got there in the end though.
The clues can be very challenging so don't be scared to ask for a hint!
At the ending we had an issue with the final pub but it was quickly resolved and didn't detract from the day at all.

Great things:

See parts of London you wouldn't normally see.
Whilst hard, the clues were solvable.
As a team building event its created plenty to chat about and got everyone working together which is great.
The actually trail itself was very well managed, and took you to some amazing pubs (and past plenty of others that can be explored)
Finally, at £12 a head we all felt it was exceptional value.

With many pub stops and a fair amount of time stuck on clues, it took us 4 hours.

Overall, 100% would recommend it and people on my team have already rebooked to do it again with family and friends.

Huge fun!

This event is good fun with some very challenging questions. It is best to do it in a group to ensure a wide spread of knowledge.
Can’t wait to book the Greenwich one.

Really Enjoyable
May 2018 • Couples
Really enjoyed the Westminster City Trail. Great and challenging clues take you down some lovely unknown streets and into some great pubs. Some interesting snippets of history too. Took us 3 hours including a long leisurely lunch. Definitely recommend. We’re looking forward to trying the Greenwich trail next 😀

Exercise for body and mind
Apr 2018 • Friends
Takes you off the beaten track and shows you bits of the city you wouldn’t normally see, all wrapped up in an interesting story (extra pertinent today!) - there were some fun interactive moments as well. Everyone beat their step count targets and got to visit some great pubs.

Challenging but great fun

We did it as a couple and struggled on a couple of the clues, some are tricky! None the less, we had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. When we do another trail, we’ll probably do it as a larger group. More minds = more chance of solving the clue.

Everyone enjoyed it - fantastic!

An awesome treasure hunt! So much fun navigating around Westminster on Political Plunder. Some clues required extra thought and a couple of trick questions. What made it even more fun was speaking to staff in pubs along the route. Great idea! Looking forward to doing another trail soon.

Fun way to explore and catch up at same time
Jan 2018 • Friends
A friend and I meet up once a year without kids, and London is an ideal location for us both. This seemed like a fun thing to do for this year's venture. Armed with my i-phone we eagerly set out. Following some well thought-out clues along the way, we explored areas of London we'd never been to before, finding hidden facts along the way. It was a lot of fun, found some nice pubs along the way, and felt very proud of ourselves for completing the mission. Only drawback is you need an i-phone - no Android version.

Great Fun

Did this as a Christmas Team Bonding exercise, and it was fantastic. We looked at our surroundings in great detail, learnt some of London’s history and managed a few pubs on route for sustenance. A great group activity for work, friends or family outings. Highly recommend.
