The area
Address
6 O'Meara Street, London SE1 1TE England
Neighborhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
How to get there
  • London Bridge • 8 min walk
  • Southwark • 9 min walk

great club night , top music

Great 70s/80s music in main bar area. Some seating too. Dress light, the venue gets very warm especially in main room where DJs were performing.

Perfect Small Venue
Feb 2020 • Couples
This place has ample bathrooms, a huge circle bar and plenty of seating space pre and post show. It’s like, a rock venue for grown ups, and I just love it. The sound is fantastic and it’s a really intimate space to see a show. Top notch.

Wonderful venue
Dec 2019
My husband and I went to see Fickle Friends at this stunning venue and were not dissapointed! I emailed before hand to ask if there was any seating as I am unable to stand for long periods. I had a prompt reply advising me that unfortunately there wasn't but they could arrange for me to have a seat. This was a straight forward process and upon arrival I was taken straight to it. I felt very well looking after and was so grateful to the lovely lady that arranged it for me

Avoid if possible, shame as it had potential

Inside the place is decent but you can tell the top level managers or owners aren’t very nice and that trickles down to all of the staff.

No one seemed happy to be working there and the staff with exceptionally rude. Bar is small and took ages, coat check is a mess when you walk in the door, and the security team is either on a power trip with how they treat people and literally yelling at people for no reason.

I’d say avoid unless you love who’s playing!!

Great place for a gig just badly organized
Oct 2019
We went here for the first time to see Bang Bang Romeo, we had asked in the OMeara wine bar where to go & the guy behind the bar didn’t even know there was a gig on. The doors were meant to open at 7pm, at 7.10pm a girl at the door said they were running 10 minutes behind, the staff then shut the doors & stood with their backs to the door. At 7.30pm they eventually started to let people in, we then had to join a second queue to get our wrists stamped, then join a third queue as the room still wasn’t open, still sound checking!

By this point everyone in the numerous queues had reached their tolerance limits, it’s a small venue & needs to be better organised.

Once we eventually managed to get inside it was a great venue, superb sound & Bang Bang Romeo were amazing.

It’s a card only bar & rather steep prices, £12.50 for 2 drinks.

There are a couple of steep steps / levels which when the lights went down people couldn’t see & so a few people did stumble a bit.

Overall we really enjoyed ourselves & just wished the place was more organised & that the staff knew what was happening in the place they work in.

Not the Best
Oct 2019 • Solo
I visited the venue for the North Mississippi Allstars gig. The venue is long and narrow and the sold out gig saw it at capacity. It felt a little claustrophobic and I felt the stage view was not the best. I was at the back of the venue on a raised area. In fairness I was late for the gig so I could only just squeeze in at the back. I was glad I hadn’t got there earlier as I wouldn’t have wanted to be further into what was a tightly packed area.

Great venue
Jul 2019 • Couples
Had never heard of this place until we won tickets to the Magic FM secret Kylie gig. Lovely little venue full of character. All the staff were really friendly and chatty to the guests. The sound was amazing for a small venue. The only downside was it was so unbearably hot, when everyone was leaving and the lights went on it looked like we had all just got out of a shower! To be fair the security staff were handing out free bottles of water.
