What a great show! Quick, witty and so well performed and directed. A very entertaining 60 minutes, with food for thought. Hope to see more of this team.

Nice little theatre
Feb 2019 • Couples
In the heart of the West End, but with the feel of an art-housy, drama-schooly theatre, Tristan Bates is a fantastic home for nurturing new talent right in the thick of things. We were here for Paved with Gold and Ashes, part of a day of six plays from Threedumb Theatre.

Auditorium space simple and intimate.

Seating moderate to comfortable.

Bar area and other facilities welcoming and clean.

Customer service at front desk efficient and friendly.

Good place

Excellent play on till 8th August - very nice little theatre
Sep 2018 • Friends
Tristan Bates is a very nice, central, small, reasonably priced theatre with a pleasant bar area. Play on at the moment - Echoes - is an excellent two-hander translated from the Italian by one of the two actors. Very well written and very well acted. Well worth seeing if you can get there this week.

Terrible customer service
Aug 2018 • Friends
I booked for a show a month in advance. I accidentally booked for the wrong date, and asked if they could transfer my tickets (which is not an unreasonable request), but they wouldn't. Every other theatre is capable of, and usually willing to, transfer a ticket, especially a whole month in advance. It boggles my mind why they refused to accommodate such a simple request, as I know they have the power to do so. Bureaucratic nonsense.

The theatre itself is nice, but is clearly staffed and managed by lazy turds.

Small but cosy
Mar 2018 • Solo
Came to the Tristan Bates yesterday to see a friend starring in Glass Roots. The stage is not that big, seating may 60 so provides an excellent atmosphere when the actors do their thing. All the dialogue is loud and clear and the cosiness of the stage puts you right in the scene.

There''s bar / sitting area for waiting before the doors open for the play. It's a bit dark and unwelcoming in the evening when all the lights are dimmed and only light by low level lights.

The staff are also quite friendly.

As for the play Glass Doors. Pretty good all round with many excellent performances and ironically Thila, the character who was up until the end of the movie was also the quietist, I felt made the biggest impact at the finale.

Unfriendly little theatre
Jan 2018 • Couples
Visited this theatre to see Sugar Baby which was an enjoyable production but sadly found the front to house staff to be cold and unfriendly when collecting tickets. I am a regular theatre goer to both theatres large and small and found this little theatre to be a let down, wouldn’t visit here again

A lively Play Reading
Sep 2017 • Friends
I visited this theatre for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is small, seating only about 50 people so has a cosy atmosphere. The cast were young and enthusiastic and when speaking stood up and gave gestures and hand movements to evoke the situation.

Well done and thank you.

There is a small bar if you arrive early.

Was here to see the Quentin Dentin Show, thr venue has a quirky bar and the theatre itself is very intimate, I had a front row seat and truly felt part of the action.

Highly recommend to see upcoming, fridge and off west-end shows

Went to this little theatre yesterday, very nice feel to the place. It wasn't a particularly hot day yesterday but there was no air in the theatre, it got quite hot halfway through the show and someone actually passed out. Still no one opened any doors/windows which was a bit disappointing.
