My 92 year old Dad found your Cinema yesterday whilst visiting the area where he grew up. He was shocked and pleasantly surprised it was still there. He used to visit every Saturday as a young boy with his younger sister.
He met two lovely staff (young ladies) who were happy to show him around.
He was so enthusiastic about finding it and how lovely the restoration was on the phone last night that my daughter and grandson booked tickets straight away and drove over 100 miles to meet my dad and enjoy a film today.
The bar reception area was a real shock. It was beautiful and smelt of fresh coffee. I could not resist trying an iced coffee (a favourite of mine) as it was such a warm day. Well all I can say is that it was the best iced coffee I ever had. I wish I lived nearby I would be a daily customer!
Such a shame that our film was in the small cinema but no matter we could still see the domed ceiling like in the bar area.
We had not realized that the seats we books were doubles ( an excellent idea they never in my day sadly). They were so comfortable with lots of leg room.
I walk with a walker which a minute after ringing the doorbell for help, was quickly carried upstairs for me by very caring staff.
Oh yes and the film we saw 'Elvis' was also very good .
Well worth the trip, especially hearing my Dad reminisce about the Castle Cinema when he was a boy. It was a joy to see the smile on his face.
Well worth a visit.

I went to see Little Women in the main cinema. It was lovely, comfy seats albeit could do will a bit of sponge added to the chairs. But a good screen and sound quality. The bar outside was great and had a really good buzz before the screening.

Strongly recommend for a different cinema experience. You don't get the same quality as the big market share holders but I would choose this every time.

Fabulous little independent cinema with a really classy bar and friendly & helpful staff. As well as mainstream films they also show arthouse and classics. I took out membership and it's been well worth it. Highly recommended.

BoHo / shabby chic vibe in the cinema, super comfy seating. An aesthetically pleasing & great bar. Will be looking for opportunities to go again.

I booked the cinema by mistake - totally my mistake. They generously refunded my booking with politeness and humour. Good people!

We normally go to Curzon Aldgate, Rich Mix, Electric Shoreditch or Genesis for something a bit different in the East End, but we stumbled on this gem by accident... bought membership straight away, fantastic retro style with great bar (would be fab for a party!), loads of comfy seating and special touches. Very happy to be able to support this venture... only slight drawbacks are chilliness (this is December)and no food served (just bar snacks), but everything else great. Hope it benefits from bigger footfall... def needs more publicity! 😍

Stumbled over this hidden Indy gem just a short walk from our flat in E3.
Great work by the team that got this place going...

Great decor and the closest of armchair seats.

GOOD audio ...lighting and well styled.

Membership is a steal also...think of signing up and supporting this place.

We are back again next week.

but it’s too good as this place is Ace.
I been a couple of times with friends and family to see recent films and also classics such as ‘it’s a wonderful life’
The whole experience is exactly how a cinema experience should be....fun
From the chilled bar/saloon area to the super deep armchair seats in the theatre the whole intimate experience is a joyful fun couple of hours.

I have been to this cinema multiple times since they opened and have never had a bad experience.

The chairs are comfy and they have a wonderful bar where you can buy drinks and popcorn for a good price. The cinema is small and quirky with a good atmosphere of people.

Showings are £5 on Mondays - a massive plus!
