The area
Address
Neighborhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
How to get there
  • Piccadilly Circus • 3 min walk
  • Charing Cross • 6 min walk

On a rainy afternoon, I was tired of all the wandering around Piccadilly and decided to check out this small, local cinema. You have to go down the blue glass shiny stairs to purchase your tickets at the bar. Or you can pick up your pre-purchased online tickets at the ground floor ticketing machine. The friendly girls and boys at the bar let you pick your seat.

Went to see Ready Player One in Screen 4, the room was not too big which I liked. Cosy enough for me and great sound !

Came as the only cinema showing The Post on Sunday in central London. Reasonable price for central London. Lovely old but comfy seats throughout the screen. Small bar and snacks area. Good experience overall.

We just randomly picked this cinema out on a recent trip to London and I have to say it was of the best cinemas I've ever been to. It's such a small rustic cosy feeling cinema kind of like old style cinema.
The gentleman on the front desk was warm and friendly and very helpful with picking our seats out for Wonder Woman.
The seats we sat in were large and comfortable with ample leg room for myself.
If you're in the area and like the old school feel of a cinema then you can't go wrong with this one.

Great Theater, Excessive Advertisments
May 2017 • Couples
We were wandering around Picadilly Circus looking for things to do and decided to catch a movie. We decided on the late showing of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.

The theater is on the smaller side and I think it only has 4 screens. You do get to select your seats ahead of time, but again, the theaters are smaller so seating is limited. The seats were large and comfortable, but they do not move, rock, or recline at all. The projection and sound quality were top notch and the theater was clean.

The main problem with this theater was the amount of advertisements, commercials, and trailers prior to the movie starting. I don't know if that is a more British practice, but there was literally 45 minutes of ads before the movie started. I was almost to the point of asking for a refund when the movie finally started. It was excessive to say the least.

I've never been to the Vue Cinema on Lower Regent Street before so it was a pleasant surprise to be at a preview screening of The Viceroys House.

The entrance with a glass staircase to lower levels, is very modern and glitzy, though there is a lift for those who don't do stairs. There's a comfy space with signed photos of celebrities adding to the warmth, charm and character of this venue.

Screen 1 held has large velvet chairs instead of the faux leather ones in other chains so really comfortable, it's well appointed in all aspects - temperature, decor, sound and upkeep and all staff were welcoming and pleasant

An intimate and well taken care of venue, it is really perfect for small groups or independent screenings.

Very nice modern decor especially in the bathrooms, though many taps were out of order so some work is needed to fix those.

I'd certainly re-visit as it's got a wonderful charm and vibe to it
