About
Established in 1965, Ross Nye Stables is the longest-established riding school to offer riding in Central London. Horses and riding have been synonymous with Hyde Park since the reign of Henry VIII, when it was used as a hunting ground for the Tudor Court! We offer both 'one off', memorable, bucket list hacks around the historic Hyde Park - including the famous Rotten Row! As well as, regular riding lessons for people of all experience levels and ages above 6 years.

To find a stable in the middle of London was amazing enough and to canter through Hyde park was surreal but the service was fantastic. They loaned me a helmet and boots for free. I would like to warn everybody who think of reserving the horse riding here. When I booked 1 hour horse trekking in Hyde Park by e-mail, one of staff (Kirsty Anthony) replied me. It wasn’t polite…She or He said that I have to visit them 10 minutes before from the actual booking time, so that I can prepare for the riding. When I got there on time, there was no staff and no horses!!!!!! I had to wait for a long time till they came back from the morning walk. Finally, they came back and asked my name, but they didn’t check a booking note or PC, they didn’t manage the reservation. They didn’t even know whether I paid in advance or not. They assigned a grumpy horse to me. I had no choice at all; however the other customer who was British girl could choose a beautiful black calm horse which I wanted to ride. All staff was very kind to her, even though she was new there too. Was it kind of racism? A female instructor who came with me to the park was not nice; there was no conversation, explanation and smile. And she was very bad at taking photos. If you are thinking to have horse riding in Hyde Park, I would highly recommend you ‘Hyde Park Stables’. They are bit expensive than this company, but looks so much better than Ross Nye Stables!!!!! FYI: I have been learning the horse riding for a long time and can speak English, and they knew them.

Absolutely wonderful experience. When my husband called to book a birthday ride for me, he said everyone he spoke to was friendly, helpful and polite. When we arrived, everything was well organised and efficient. The ponies themselves are beautiful, clearly loved and well looked after and it shows. The route, through Hyde Park, is absolutely beautiful. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and it made the whole experience even better. She pitched the ride perfectly- I was able to have a few canters whilst my daughter just trotted and was given tips and suggestions to improve her technique and confidence. A really fabulous experience.

From the time of enquiry, the Ross Nye team were helpful in getting my booking sorted. Visiting from Aus for the first time, I didn’t have local contact, but they made everything easy. The tour itself was the best way I can imagine to see Hyde Park, as my guide provided history and context. They also made sure to gauge my abilities beforehand, so could tailor the experience to what would fit best and allow me to challenge myself. They also provided great recommendations for the rest of my visit in London. I’d recommend this experience, and would look to do it again next time I visit London.

I haven't been over to London in several years, due to Covid and I miss my excursions to Kirsty and her RossNye Stables very much.
I really enjoyed those early morning rides, so convenient on the trips where I had a full work schedule. I always booked at least one ride before I'd fly out again.
What always appealed to me about RossNye was the quality of the horses and how well they are treated. Kirsty and I enjoyed lots of mom talk, too, on those rides.

A live nearby and had wanted to ride in London for ages. This is without a doubt one of the best experiences I’ve had living here. The staff and horses are amazing and I loved that we got the chance to canter in the park in rotten row. So incredible!

I had a fabulous ride on Archie through Hyde Park with a wonderful and helpful guide. It really was a dream come true! The stable is lovely, the horses are well cared for and the experience can’t be topped. Kirsty was very friendly and made it easy to book a ride.

My friend and I had a fantastic ride through Hyde Park with our lovely and friendly guide Abbey. I rode Sydney who was so well behaved and very sweet. What a great thing to do in London. I rode Enigma, a 28 year old rock steady beauty. My wife rode Auric, not sure if the age. Both horses were impeccable. We were very well looked after by Megan. We had fantastic day out, thoroughly recommended.

I've ridden with Ross Nye Stables many times, and it's always a wonderful experience! They were kind about an emergency cancelation (illness) as well as rescheduling a few times. Kirsty, the owner, is always lovely and helpful. Bobby, my instructor/guide, is brilliant. I can't recommend Ross Nye Stables enough!

Do you book online or have to book in advance or attend and pay directly..?!
Bookings have to be done in advance with payment upfront. The payment is non refundable but the date, or time can be changed up to 24 hours before the original booking. We do not have an online booking system, bookings are taken over the phone; 02072623791 or by email, or the Facebook group.
How the booking method and how much the price .?!
£90 per person for one hour.

Hi curios25 nice to met you through the world of travel,,, Ross Nye can definitely take all 5 of you out on the Horse Track and yes you will have to book in by time slot, as they are also a very busy riding school as well as casual. They have all the uniform you need from hats to appropriate foot wear,, all you have to do is show up and say hello.
While your there i would strongly recommend Russel the pony he isn't as small as a regular pony more like the size of a mule, and he has these very cute platts and a lovely brown colour, you get a very bouncy cudly ride off of Russel,, have fun.

We will be visiting London in April 2019. We are fairly experienced riders and horse owners. Will we have the opportunity to canter on one of your rides, or will it be more of a "nose to tail" trail ride?
We are more then happy to allow our customers to canter in the park as long as it is a) safe to do so and b) the instructor accompanying you is confident in your control of the horse and experience level. If you read some of our reviews you’ll see that many people of all experience levels recommend us highly for being such a unique experience - far from a nose to tail trail ride!
