An excellent use of space
Oct 2019 • Solo
This is one of a number of open spaces in the area run by the Bankside Open Spaces Trust. Waterloo Millennium Green is situated in Baylis Road almost directly opposite the Old Vic and provided an unexpected oasis for matinee theatregoers and visitors to the Lower Marsh area with its trendy shops and street market beneath a side of Waterloo Station. It is slowly being developed and laid out by local people and already boasts a waterfall over a rock pool and several seating areas. Plant beds abound. The central grass area is well cared for. There are a couple of metal sculptures resembling giant insects.

Decent, but don't go out of the way though.

Waterloo Millennium park is a small park close to Waterloo station. It's quite a "hilly" park with gravel walkways, lots of greenery and enough benches, plus a few that are quite funky looking. The park is decent by London standards and seems to be free of "undesirable" elements. Don't go out of the way though. On the day of the visit there was repair being made to the garden located inside the park, so perhaps when that's finished, it's something worth seeing.

Small Little Park
May 2018 • Couples
This small little area is a small park very near to Waterloo Station & near to The Old Vic.
It is a small park, but with a few benches scattered around it can give you a perfect place to rest while waiting for a train or Theatre.

Waterloo Millennium park is a medium sized flat green area in Waterloo that was opened in the year 2000. London traffic roads surround this triangle green park.

Lovely space but ruined by irresponsible dog 'walkers'.

One of nearly 250 such small parks around the nation, created around the turn of the Millennium with the active participation of the local populace, this is an admirable open space now managed by a Trust and still with a high degree of ownership by local people.
It can be found just south of Waterloo Station and is directly over Waterloo Road from The Old Vic theatre.
There is a main grassed area bounded by trees and a quieter part on the Baylis Road side has an attractive water feature, interesting plantings and plenty of places to sit.
I first encountered this place about 3 years ago when visiting The Old Vic and returned recently to take a rest from the 'hustle and bustle' of the busy City.
What a pity that many irresponsible dog owners continue to let their pets run wild, consider it a 'dog toilet' and leave their animals' ordure behind, to ruin it for everyone else.

Cute park adjacent to Waterloo Station

This is a cute park a short walk to the East of Waterloo Station, perfect for a quick break. There is grass for the kids to play and benches for relaxing.
