Euston Square Gardens used to be a nice green space next to Euston Road that was a good place to sit on your way along the road or going from Euston station.

Sadly it has now been covered with tarmac and is now a taxi rank. This is part of the redevelopment of Euston station taking the former taxi rank out of action.

Such a shame but there are lots of green spaces around the city so just rush past it.

If you like seeing the iconic red buses then it's an attraction, otherwise its a shabby grassed area with a few seats.

This garden is right opposite Euston Station. Calling it a gardens is an incredible misnomer. It's little more than a large patch of grass in the middle of a very busy area of London. The garden isn't that well maintained. In winter, with the tree shorn of leaves, the grasses trimmed, you can really see the large patches mud and soil where the grass is missing. Even in the summer, there's a lack of flowers and very little to see.

I certainly wouldn't wander here at night except to get to the station for the homeless that like to use the park as a place to sleep.

53 ancient plane trees being destroyed as i write for a temporary taxi rank supporting HS2 railway construction. Well done Boris and the rest. 'Clap for the trees' coming to a parking lot near you soon.

Soon to be a temporary taxi rank and car park for HS2 - trees and grass all being ripped up (no space for residents in a pandemic it seems )

We had half an hour to kill before meeting the family and sat on one of the benches. We had a little bread to feed the pigeons who came in droves to the delight of the children. If you have time to wait for your train at Euston Station stroll out and sit here rather than in the station concourse - assuming its not raining

I guess these gardens could be quite nice but they always seem full of people drinking cheap cider and such like. So I tend not to hang around.

This is not really a garden square so much as a patch of grass with some grand old plane trees in front of what is probably London's ugliest station on London's most polluted road. You have to walk through it to get from the main road to the station entrance. On the plus side there is an Eduardo Paolozzi statue and the original entrance gates to the Victorian period station which I believe are the only remnants of the pre 1960s station. Between this green space and the station concourse are some big name cafes. Also unfortunately this place attracts antisocial behaviour.

Right outside Euston Station, Euston Square Gardens was my least favourite of the garden squares in this part of London. Surrounded by main roads and with a busy bus lane cutting the gardens in half, it wasn’t so pleasant as the nearby Tavistock, Russell or Gordon Squares. Even the local commuters I spoke to didn’t recommend it. The Gardens are open 24 hours, but I wouldn’t recommend a night time visit.
