A life-sized bronze that suggests swirling motion, perfect for a dynamo who led the campaign for preserving and restoring St. Pancras Station--and who also wrote poetry. Thank you, Sir John Betjeman, and those who commemorated him with this well-placed artwork.

It's a statue. Of Sir John Betjeman. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of John Betjeman, in the middle of a train station.

The title to the review is cryptic. It is probably the case that British Rail would have closed and sold St Pancras in the 1960's if it had not been for the efforts of John Betjeman and others. This less than flattering statue looks out...More

It was due in great part to the efforts of Sir John Betjeman that the St Pancras Station we have today even exists. I remember seeing many of his programs on TV and his passion for railways is well documented. Do take a look at...More

Nice statue which can be quite calming to look at in what is a very hectic place. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

In the 60's when the tory government was advocating driving cars rather than travelling by rail there was a very vocal opponent in the form of Sir John Betjemen. Although not a politician this railway lover was influential in saving St Pancras station which was...More

Betjeman helped to save the station from the same fate that befell Euston Station.A really fantastic building instead of a lump of concrete.

The bronze lifesize statue of poet, Sir John Betjeman, stands at the upper concourse of St. Pancreas International Station, London. The statue stands as a tribute from London and Continental Railways to the man who had been the driving force to save the site when...More

One of the best bronzes that you will see as this is an action bronze that appears to show the star in the wind and looking up to the station - stand and look closely at the care taken with this sculpture
