The area
Neighborhood: Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Stood for ages going round this stunning art/sculpture - it is the most amazingly visual and tactile piece of work I have ever come across.
So many different things to look at, discover in it, and to not be 'afraid' to touch it, was brilliant. Cannot wait to revisit one day.

This huge statue is really worth being looked at ... from different angles. Its carved base provides innumerable scenes related to travelling by train, which clearly show the outstanding artistry of its sculptor. I couldn't resist visiting it more than once.

PROS
* Big and impressive
* Meaningful and evocative
* Quite a detailed work of art
* Located at the southern entrance to the building, on the way to the adjacent Kings Cross Station
* Close immediate unimpeded access to the base of the statue

CONS
* It's there in the foyer of the south entrance, and seeing it can be a surprise

"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... when I was exploring St. Pancras Station. The photos that I took appear on the St. Pancras International Station page.

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Hey- it's free to enter the train station

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
If I had reason to be at St. Pancras International Station, I would certainly make the effort to go and see it again close up, along with the second statue of a man who seems to have missed his train.

ADVICES
It's worth making some effort to go see it at the southern entrance if you are already in the train station.

FULL DISCLOSURE
"I visited this place" with the intention and plan to write a thorough complete and "helpful" review of St. Pancras International Station, and I attached and submited many "helpful" photos of this statue to that subject on its page here on tripadvisor, so if these did "help" you, please indicate that by tikking the "thumbs up" 👍 symbol. It's a statue. Of two people kissing. I am not sure how something like this could be either excellent or terrible. I mean, it is just a statue, of two people kissing, in the middle of a train station.

A stunning sculpture in terms of size and craftsmanship, it brings to mind all those re-unions that take place on station platforms, which is depicted around the base. There is a touch of Art Deco to the statue in the faces but the clothing and hairstyles could lead you to believe that this had taken place in any of many eras. A quite beautiful welcome to St Pancras.
