Neighborhood: Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.

Great off the cuff family meal.

Party of 5 dropped in with no reservation on a Saturday evening. Seated within 15 minutes, despite a long queue. Eduardo our waiter made excellent recommendations for a party including people with a variety of dietary needs. Food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The wine recommendation was spot on! Place was buzzy and informal, everyone seemed to be happy to be there. All in all a lovely family experience. Thank you everyone.

A little bit of something for everyone
Oct 2021
I'm a big fan of street food markets as there is always something for everyone no matter how picky they are. While not massive there is between 15 and 20 stalls here with a wide range of food, I myself went for a shrimp box from Shrimpy which was cooked fresh while I waited and tasted as good as it looked.

My vegetarian girlfriend was also spoilt for choice and opted for a veggie wrap and sweet potato fries. The prices start at around £7 and rarely go above £10 and if our two were anything to go by taste great. Seating in the area is limited as is cover on a typical wet English day but don't let that deter you.

If you are around the London Eye this is very close and a great place to call in for food.

Revolting Hygiene
Oct 2021
Revolting hygiene - or complete lack of. No hand washing facilities for the vendors. Most food uncovered from coughs and sneezes of vendors &/or punters, also rain drops and good old London plane tree dust. No formal Hygiene Stars on any of the stalls. Food open to the birds that fly through the site. No displays of ingredients for those with allergies.

Great vibes, good food.

Great little spot for a day out and whilst you can find good food, you go for the vibes; they are immaculate.

Enjoyable street food
Aug 2021
A popular food market that is generally busy during the weekends. There is a mixture of cuisines on offer. This ranges from Italian, Thai, Cajun and European. There are also stalls for alcohol, plant-based foods and desserts. The layout is square and there is a limited amount of places to sit. The prices are a mixture of reasonable and overpriced. However, with plenty on offer, you can enjoy good street food for a decent price. The atmosphere is lively and the surrounding area usually has some form of activity taking place. Perfect for sunny days or when you have that urge for street food.

Overpriced, dirty, soulless market
Aug 2021 • Family
Most stalls were over priced, the stall staff all seemed a bit fed up, the area was generally quite dirty and littered, not really anywhere to sit once you get your food, and the area just generally felt soulless. I’m guessing they expect people to be too drunk to notice all these things. Or maybe too high like the teenagers sat round the corner smoking weed near the beers stall.

Only giving it 3 stars as we bought food from Pabellon (Venezuelan food) and it was delicious although hugely overpriced (£10 for a small meal in a bun is a lot!). However the sweet potatoe fries and garlic sauce were 10/10.

Do avoid the Indian snack stall, they were just plain rude and their food looked of poor quality anyway (nothing artisan or special, you could get it in Asda).

We came with our kids and there really wasn’t much for them here. Though the giant silver teapot installation was fun for them to look at.

Really guys I wouldn’t recommend this market, there’s much better food markets across London worth a visit, and this just doesn’t cut the mustard. South bank need to improve this tired, dreary food market, which felt like it had reputation that didn’t match reality.

We happened upon this market while walking around the Southbank area. They had several good food stands that we tried. Korean food, falafel, crepes, etc.

Food to die for!
Sep 2020 • Couples
We were on a weekend trip to London and stayed in Premier Inn County Hall next door to The London Eye and Southbank Centre Food Market.
Saturday we had Chicken Biryani but today we had the Duck Burger from 'The Frenchie!'
Oh wow!! Absolutely amazing food!
I had the Eiffel Tower burger and Duck Fat fries and it didn't disappoint!
Make sure you eat over the bowl as you'll have some delicious bits to have after you've finished your burger!
One place I will go back to when coming back to London for a trip!

Woodward’s
Mar 2020
Pretty sure it was Woodward’s but one of the best burgers ever, loved that you could put your own salad on. So you get a great burger with layers of stuff that didn’t squeeze out, loved it. Some other great food around too.
