The area
Address
Neighborhood: Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.

Clarendon cocktail cellar
We visited the cocktail cellar which you have to walk through the restaurant to get down to (not ideal) we was 25 minutes late for our reservation as it is literally off the beaten track, we was told in a rather annoyed voice by the doorman he would have to move people around and see of he could fit us in (not sure why the security guard was in charge of seating arrangements) we got down lovely astectics very hot no air conditioning or air flow as it's a cellar but you'd imagine something would be done, we ordered a Peter rabbit (meant to be sweet and tasted like sour ribena) Alice in wonderland ( I can still taste the pure smoke flavour now) a Charles Dickens (meant to be dandelion and burdock tastes like straight vodka) and a wind in the willows which out of all wasnt too bad we couldnt stand the heat or horrid cocktails and left after one

Dear '406katyf', I am ever so sorry to receive your review following on from your disappointing experience during your time with us at the cocktail cellar at Cambridge Street, I am disheartened to hear you did not enjoy your time with us and would like to assure you that your comments will be taken on board and investigated as a matter or urgency. We are based in a small townhouse which does have it's limitations with space and facilities and whilst we are slightly out of the way from the buzz of Victoria and central London, we find ourselves to be a well connected neighbourhood hangout that brings some flavour and ambience to Pimlico and Belgravia. Due to the popularity of our venue, our reservations terms do mention that in the event of late arrival for bookings, we may not be able to hold the table back for longer than 15 minutes - I understand that the bar manager was able to accommodate you in one of our spaces and move you over to the cocktail cellar bar shortly after. I am sorry to hear that you felt the doorman communicated in such a way - our doormen do not manage seating or reservations but are simply there to make sure there is minimal noise disturbances as we are in a residential area, I will make sure that your experience is discussed with the company that we work with to provide security on the weekends. Our spaces on the lower ground floor are fully air conditioned and temperature levels are monitored by the duty manager on shift to ensure that the atmosphere and aesthetics are upheld to a good standard at all times, i will make sure to look into why this was not the case on the evening of your visit. I would very much like to welcome you back to Cambridge Street so we can make sure to offer you the service, cocktails and experience that we are so well known for, I would appreciate it if you would send me an email so we can discuss your visit in further detail - you can reach me at warren@artistresidence.co.uk. Warmest Regards, Warren Bar Manager

Friday drinks
Dec 2019 • Couples
We rocked up the other night (Friday after work, two of us) and we were quite stoked about this cellar cocktail bar’s ambience and also it was not super busy- we could talk and hear each other, we were able to sit down and sip peacefully our tasty cocktails. We will return to this lovely bar, that’s for sure.

Good find!
Jun 2019 • Friends
We found this bar through Time Out and wasn’t disappointed. We came here on an afternoon and had a few cocktails, the barman made us some based on what we said we liked. Cocktails were great and good value too. The cellar has a great atmosphere and feels very hidden away. Would come back here!

Very disappointing
Dec 2018
I went here as part of a Christmas do with group, we had made a reservation, but when we arrived we were crammed into a small area almost sitting on top of each other. The cocktails look mass produced and were served in basic glasses, reminiscent of an all inclusive budget hotel on the Med! Maybe it's because it was Christmas the management felt they could maximise their profits, either way we felt let down and won't be repeating the experience.

Service was on point really helpful, attentive and professional. Where it lacks in space it makes up in charm and character.

This bar is so good. They really have fun with their drinks; every drink has a story and each drink looks divine. Definitely a go to cocktail bar. Bar snacks decent too.

Mistakes on the bill and poor customer service
Oct 2018 • Friends
I got a new job close to this bar and was excited to try it - and in fairness the venue itself and cocktails are really good. We were welcomed in, and shown the menu, and the staff were initially very attentive. Unfortunately I then had some of the worst customer service.

They accidentally charged us three times for one cocktail when we'd only had one, charged us twice for a different cocktail (when my friend had already paid and left) and hadn't priced one of our bottles of wine correctly.

When we mentioned the mistakes, the bartender claimed 'it's impossible' that he made a mistake. We really had to argue our point, and had to ask the manger to correct it. We felt really insulted that they accused us of not paying our bill in full. I don't normally post reviews, but honestly I was so disappointed as I was really excited to try this place.

Great bar hidden in a basement
Oct 2018 • Friends
Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. Cocktails were delicious although a bit expensive for their size (the cheapest being £9). Their menu is very unique but don't worry if you want something different, the bartenders are very knowledgeable and can make any cocktail you want.

The bar itself can be a bit hard to find, as it's located underneath a restaurant.

Best cocktails in London

Went on a Friday evening. Not too busy. Intimate place to have great cocktails with great service. You pay for what you get. These cocktails are strong, but delicious and beautifully crafted.
