Great way to prep for a ski holiday
Feb 2020
Perfect introduction for our 6yo to learn the basics of skiing before we went on her first ski holiday in the school holidays. She had 3 lessons and was able to execute controlled snow plough and turns on the mats by the end, which gave her some confidence by the time she actually made it to skiing on snow for the first time. on holiday, she was able to skip a couple of the beginner grades in the group classes we signed her up for and was able to put a lot of what she had already learnt at Chel Ski to the test. Her lessons at Chel Ski were invaluable for really letting us make the most of our short ski holiday - would recommend it for any children to fast track their learning

Not enough time on the slope for the money spent.
Feb 2020
Pros:
Very enjoyable experience using the rolling carpet.
I like the mirrors too as I can see postural errors clearly.
Excellent knowledgeable instructor who was friendly and encouraging. (Magda).
Decent quality and clean smelling loan boots (Head brand), that fitted extremely well.

Cons:
Biggest negative is the time on the slope.
I know it is 30 minutes out of the hour as per the repeated information all over their website, But if a person is on their own or in a couple who train together, then you still get 30 minutes as 15mins on, a break and 15 mins on again. So my session was all finished and I was out of the building with 45 minutes.
I paid for 1 hour and if I was solo then I would expect more then 2x15 sessions, else it's not an hours lesson really is it????

I've now been looking as Easyski in Chiswick as you pay slightly more as a solo, but the slope is yours for the duration, and taking another person makes the lesson £25 cheaper than Chelski.

Fantastic introduction to ski-ing!
Oct 2019
Booked a lesson here as I am a complete beginner who is going skiing in the New Year and I must say I was amazed that in my first lesson i was able to ski, stop and turn!

The instructors really focus on what you're doing and give you real time feedback on how to improve. My legs were like jelly after the first 10 minutes so i was grateful for the 15 mins on/ 15 mins off set-up.

I think this is really good value for money, I've booked to have another lesson, its amazing how quickly your confidence builds, its particularly handy that there's a glass/ mirror in front of the slope so you can watch yourself!

Great pre-season training
Sep 2019
I had used a previous set up in Chiswick, being based in Chelsea made it even more available.

The facility is great for accessing ski and snowboarding training when the snow melts in the Alps.

The only downside is you need to try and keep the same instructor, to get the most of the training.

Fantastic training pre winter holiday
Mar 2019
Fantastic advanced ski lessons with the team here, they are really able to zone in on exactly what I need to work on every lesson I do. If I make any mistakes they are highlighted by the surface being unforgiving allowing me to work on exactly what i'll need on snow. Yes it's not snow but what else is except snow! When I transfered this onto snow I was able to create the same feelings as on Chel-Ski and improve my skiing for my holiday and ski all day everyday on my trip last winter!
The group sessions are only 30 minutes but this is advertised on the webiste and by the centre as clearly an issue that people ask about - 30 minutes is plenty enough though!

Not advisable for snowboarding
Feb 2019
I'm an intermediate, but rusty, boarder, so thought this would be good to get my confidence back before my trip. Unfortunately it's nothing like being on the snow, and frankly dangerous on a board.
I lost control on a turn and ended up grabbing the bar at the end and hyper extending a finger, causing 12 trips to the physio and permanent damage to my finger.
It looked fun for the skiing, but was hopeless for boarding.
Staff were pleasant.

Hi Hollye72, We are sorry to hear your experience on the snowboard wasn't as expected and the injury you have incurred. When selling our sessions we suggest that they are a great training tool for both skiers and snowboarders to gain confidence and skills prior to a winter trip. We are very honest not to sell the surface to be "snow like" or to mislead people as the surface's unforgiving nature is one of its greatest selling points to get people's technique on skis or a board ready for the mountains so when they reach snow (the most forgiving surface) everthing appears easier. In partnership with the slope manufacturers (there are nearly 100 sites worldwide using tehnology alike to ours), we strongly advise our slopes for all winter sports and believe they can be used safely for all at all ages and abilities whilst under careful supervision of our fully qualified instructors. We are accutely aware that everyone has a preference and their opinion to the type of surface they would prefer to learn and practice on whether that is the mountains, and snow, or a different snowsports environment. Where you say it's "hopeless for boarding" we have many clients that have used our slope and gone on holiday saying how much it helped therefore advising it for snowboarding. Adversely we also have those that advise it for snowboarding but not skiing or for fitness and not technique. As you are aware snowboarding is an extreme sport and injury is not uncommon whether that be on a mountain or even in an controlled environment such as Chel-Ski, we take injuries very seriously and all instructors are first aid trained and briefed for all eventualities should an accident occur. Should you have further questions about your booking please email info@chel-ski.uk.

Fun experience
Aug 2019
Had some issues with fitting the ski boot. Surprisingly it fit well around my foot, despite always needing shoes of a wide width, however, it was too narrow around my ankles which led to some discomfort. Past that, the actually experience was a lot of fun. I have never skied before so can't compare it to that, but this experience seemed realistic and fun. When you book an hour, you don't actually get that (which I knew), but the breaks are very necessary because the skiing wears you out. Ended up skiing around 40 min. Instructor was very knowledgeable and nice. I managed to learn how to stop and turn in my first lesson. Would recommend.

Fantastic Day Out!

Brilliant instructors, all so much fun for the kids and knowledgeable. My 3 kids really enjoyed themselves and got to play some games on the slope after the skiing. We would definitely return!
