We visited on a Friday early evening, the place was already busy but service at the bar was quick enough and pleasant. Food was pretty good, think we ate only burgers etc. and service of that was quick too. A decent beer to wash it down and plenty of choice. Would visit again if in the area.

Attended the Hope Theatre on Wednesday 21st December 2016. My partner and I ate in the pub. The food was overcooked and arrived cold. My partner's beer tasted very stale. I asked at the bar who was in charge and was told that the duty manager was James but he was not available. A lovely theatre and a great show... More

I booked some tables at the Hope and Anchor for the celebration of the life of someone who had died. Shortly after I had put out the invitations they called me and said they had made a mistake, double booking and would have to cancel. Because the Hope and Anchor held some memories for us with the person who died... More

Visited recently during a weekend trip to London. The venue is steeped in music history and the bar is lively and a great place to spend a little time. I decided to eat before heading off so ordered the jerk beef short rib. The bar was busy but not overly so. I waited, waited, waited and watched as customers that... More

Traveled to London to watch my friends band play and was impressed with the venue it was well maintained and looked like it has just been refurbished. The only thing i wasn't impressed with was the Sound guy who only seemed interested in talking to his friend rather than concentrating on the bands needs while setting up and playing. Ive... More

Great bar with super beer (& suprisingly good wine selection). Good bar food as well. We had simple burger, but hand made & a real treat. Great music venue (still has concerts & a theatre). Lots of history, simply read wall memorabilia.

I visited the bar/music venue last night, all the staff were highly professional, polite and helpful. Special mention to the lovely member of staff who was working in the bar downstairs, who despite being under pressure served everyone promptly and with a smile on her face. Well run venue with a very good team, (including the security team) will be... More
