The bouncers were unnecessarily aggressive, the bar staff were rude and blunt and half of us got served in plastic cups while the others got proper pint glasses

This bar captures history - you can almost hear the ghost of Shakespeare in the distant echos of the punk music upstairs. Good beer, friendly people, nice vibes.

Love the great green mirror behind the counter. Nice space, friendly staff, but with the inevitable relentless traffic outside.

This is a trendy, old-fashioned pub on the corner with lovely rounded frontage around Great Eastern St and Curtain Road. We liked the decor and seeing the young hipsters frequenting it.

I'm not a regular. This was my first visit. The pub is pretty dark and often hosts live music, the lights didn't come on until it was almost dark. A bottle of goose IPA will set you back a whopping £5. There is a huge...More

I was there mainly to see a gig upstairs - Suzie Stapleton supporting Henri Herbert and the Fury. The space upstairs is good acoustically and has it's own bar. There was a wee downside in that the staff were struggling to keep up a bit,...More
