Went to Edinburgh Playhouse last and after 20 minutes the young lad playing Billy took unwell, hope he's fine now. After 10 minutes or so the young stand-in took over and he was superb. The young cast were superb and supported by enthusiastic elders in this brilliant musical. A few expletives in the show but given the passion and setting... More

Thought the show was fantastic, we both did. The cast where amazing and the children where all very talented. Definitely recommend to others. Parents of younger children should note their is quite a bit of swearing in the show so may not be for everyone certainly didn't offend us it helped make the show as it was all in humour.

Quite simply the worst musical I have ever been to. Singing was weak and awful. Tap dancing was bizarre. At the interval we both said how silly we felt the performance was. We stayed, sadly, to the bitter end in the hope that we would at least get some reference to the film by seeing a grown up Billy accomplishing... More

Absolutely brilliant ...loved every minute of the performance at the Edinburgh Playhouse. However, having checked with the box office that the show was suitable for an 8 year old (and being told that there were a "couple" of incidences") I was surprised at the volume of expletives. Great show, but maybe take your teenager rather than small children.

I went to see Billy Elliot last night in Edinburgh with my mum as a treat for her birthday. The show captured our imagination from start to finish. If we weren't crying through Billy's touching scene with his Mother we were crying with laughter. I have been to see lots of shows including one on broadway and I have to... More

Went in Edinburgh to see Billy Elliot having only seen the film and knowing nothing about the musical. Enjoyed the singing, acting and dancing but feel a warning should be given regarding the bad language. I am no prude and regularly attend football matches where I expect to hear this type of language, however I don't expect it when seeing... More

I am very picky with the musicals I like and what gives me adrenaline and chills through my body at the same time and that's exactly what Billy Elliot did! Thrilling experience, very emotional and very inspiring. I have always loved musical theatre and seeing this musical is pushing me further and further to go out there and do it... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
