Location: The location was advertised as central London, it was actually 35 minutes away from central London.
Food: The example menu was advertised as beef sliders and Belgium Waffles with fresh Strawberries and Strawberry Coulis. We actually received a graze box with a bagel and a croissant which were both stale. Also a squished brownie in a prepackaged box for dessert.
Performance: Although the performers were great, there were no aerial performers or snake like in the promotional video.
Bottomless drinks: we were placed on a table with two strangers of whom we were forced to share the bottles of prosecco with when they came out, this is uncomfortable to share a bottle with strangers
For £65pp for this event I would not recommend, you can get much more value for money and better service at other places in London.

Attended the greatest brunch at the venue. Omg it was Terrible. For £65 you get what I can only describe as a box of bad plane food - muffin (Costco box set) grapes, bad choc brownie and a very dry muffin. You are crammed into a table so everyone is on top of each other very uncomfortable. You think you are going to watch a version of the greatest showman but instead they sing 5 songs from the show very badly and the rest is just random songs. You are given bad Prosecco for 2 hours and then that stops because they want you to spend money at the bar. Whole experience was awful please spend your money else where.

Absolutely abysmal night, me and my friend went for a Halloween Alice and wonderland event but there was hardly any Alice and wonderland references at all on this night aside from one guy on stage dressed as a rabbit. Me and my friend were expecting a way grander show. Minimal probs and the music wasn’t halloweeny at all.
The worst part of the night was the hour queue to get a drink, they were so short staffed for the amount of people there. I completely lost my buzz after that. Once I got up there and ordered my cocktail ‘strawberry daiquiri’ it came from a bottle and was not freshly made. This was practically undrinkable. I couldn’t finish it, it was the worst cocktail I had ever had. I left shortly after and went to McDonald’s which was for sure the highlight of the night. It’s safe to say I won’t be returning and I won’t be recommending to any of my mates.

Popped here for a Russell Howard gig of an evening and obviously in these times it’s not easy to organise. The day before we were given pre order options for drinks with Budweiser or Corona offered as the beers. I thought I’d give them a miss as that’s a pretty sorry choice.
We got there and were talked through all the rules and how Codiv safe it all was. Immediately after that we had to give our phones to a woman to seal them away for the gig. She must’ve handled several phones throughout the night and had no gloves on or anything like that. Not quite so Codiv safe! No idea why she had to touch everyone’s phones in the first place as we could’ve put them in the case ourselves.
We were then told once seated in the very uncomfortable trestle chairs we had to hold our drinks menu in the air to get a waiter or waitress to come. Again it was the sorry selection of beers on offer, so I opted for a glass of red and a beef burger. I had my hand in the air for half an hour (no exaggeration) whilst the staff went to other people before me who had only just put their hand up and I was hamstrung by not being allowed to leave my seat. It took another 20 minutes after ordering to receive the drinks and the burger was pretty rough and tasted like it had been reheated from being cooked the night before.
The whole ordering system was ludicrous and none of the staff had a handle on what was happening. I get the difficulties with the current restraints, but the system couldn’t have been any worse.
The gig was fine, but all in all the venue have a lot of work to do to get things right and they need to give things more thought. Even a simple light system or equivalent would be better than everyone holding their hand up for several minutes like a naughty school child.
Must try harder!

Movie-nights and Saturday night afterparties are excuses for the best sort of wild madness, the excuse to find the inner child. Great people having fun in a historic venue being preserved by being a place of continuing entertainment. A place to be silly and not embarrassed, people often coming in crazy costumes, singalongs, confetti confusions and balloons dropping from the ceiling in the best of party atmosphere.
I've taken work-friends before now and all have enjoyed it.

Having supported The Grand during lockdown and watching The Save the Grand shows I was so happy to be able to visit The Clapham Grand in person. I contacted the accessibility team to ask about access and book a wheelchair space and companion ticket. Maisie was so helpful. She explained how to book tickets which was really easy. She explained about the access at the venue - what do when we arrived and where we would be sitting and how to access what we needed. When we got there we went to the front and was greeted by the manager who was really friendly and welcoming. He showed us exactly where to go. The security staff were wonderful they put the ramp down for me and made sure I got to my seats. They were genuinely welcoming and made me feel like they really cared about disabled guests. When we got there our seats were clearly reserved with a sign. I had a wonderful view of the stage and easy access to the accessible toilet. The venue itself was beautiful. All the original features and charm of the venue has been kept. The acts were brilliant and it was a wonderful night. At the end staff were on hand to let us out and we didn't have to go looking for anybody or wait around. Access feels like something they've really thought about and considered and not just an afterthought which I feel like you get in a lot of places. I was able to just enjoy my night and focus on the music and I can't describe what a difference that makes. Genuinely the best night out I have had in a long time and I put that down to the staff at The Grand. In the current climate we need to be supporting local, independent music venues. To quote Beans on Toast "Don't you think that it would be a shame. If every single venue was exactly the same". I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Super friendly staff. I was anxious and a couple of minutes late and they made me feel at home. The cloakroom supervisor was really kind. My only constructive suggestion, which wouldn’t be unique to this venue is gender-neutral toilets. The queue ratio was a bit high, and I get the feeling this is a positive, forward-thinking venue that could be in a growing minority of gender-neutral bathrooms. Thanks again for a brilliant experience.

I have been to two shows in the last couple of weeks ..the reopening live music event with Beans on Toast and Frank Turner it was fantastic to see live music as it should be - great atmosphere, great venue, good times. This was after the rule change however respect was the order of the day and the tone set by the staff was very good in my opinion. Later the same week Comedy with Dave Gorman which was a socially distance show - really enjoyed the clever comedy by Dave and his guests. The Grand provides great varied entertainment with atmosphere and fun friendly staff.

Went to see Frank Turner for one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Saw him last just before the first lockdown so seeing him as a first gig after was a great bookend. The staff at the grand were all so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great and it felt amazing to be out enjoying live music again. Well done Clapham Grand. You smashed it!

I saw the Chris Jericho show the other day. The show was great and the venue was decent. However, the door lady with black hair in a ponytail who searches bags was absolutely miserable and rude. I went to get some food and would return to the venue, she said if I close the doors the doors are shut which is fair enough. I'm ok as the show would have started half hour later. I brought some food and she searches my bag and says you can't bring food in. I said 'ok can i eat here?' and she rudely replies 'not in front of me'. Don't worry darling, if i did that it would come back up again. Does this person really think i would munch food right in front of her. I get the venue doesn't let you bring food in, but do they just expect us to eat only hotdogs and popcorn where the popcorn was being nibbled by the vendor from time to time. They would prefer us to eat their contaminated food. Overall, good show, just get rid of the lady bag searcher
