An interesting historical find on our travels. A unique, bespoke, water wheel actually working and functioning. It was fascinating to watch. The water powered wheel was used to drive spools to rinse silk after gumming and printing and dates back to c1860.

Great place for a relaxed breakfast/brunch. Good choice and friendly staff. Always busy which tells its own story of how loved this place is. Lovely to walk the river and browse in individual shops afterwards.

Hidden away across from the picturesque setting of a KFC drive through and car park is a lovely little area called Merton abbey mills. Great food selection and a few pubs as well. Very nice place to come in summer.
