The area
Neighborhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

Doesn't worth the money

The place tries to be fancy with all that velvet, but they have no cider, no tap beer, drinks are expensive and the toilet is dirty and they don't have toilet paper.

a No for me.

The place is narrow and looks like a dark corridor. Lights are too dimmed in my opinion and drinks are overly pricey for no good reason. And we realized all of this after we had paid an entry fee.

Rude staff

First time at this "luxury champagne bar" last Friday night. The decor is nice, but the main bar is small and narrow and feels like you're partying in a corridor, or a district line train tube carriage.

The worst part was the bar staff - rude, arrogant and clueless. One barman took what seemed like 10 minutes to serve one guy two drinks. They're inattentive, and when I asked one guy if he could serve me next as I'd been standing there for ages, he looked down at his nose at me and walked off. When I finally got served, I requested a glass of prosecco but was told they only sold bottles. When I pointed out my friend managed to buy a glass earlier, he told me "the bottle had finished"?!?!?!????! I suggested he should perhaps open another one, and after much cajoling he finally agreed. The bar staff appear to have let the "luxury" aspirations of this bar to go to their own heads. Here's the thing boys - customers' money is what pays your wages and without us customers you have no job - get it? I was with 3 other friends, and none of us will be returning to this crappy wannabe luxury venue.

Fantastic Night Out
Mar 2016 • Friends
Our division at work had a party last Thursday evening and we decided to give J37 a try as it had been recently opened.
We were told that they could provide food for us, but it was limited and pricey for 40 people, but they said we could take our own, which we did. They had provided a large table for us to lay it out in the room behind the bar area.
We arrived at 5 and were immediately given a choice of cocktails. Happy hour being from 5-7 the reduced prices for cocktails were included in our final bar bill at the end of the night. We had a choice of Porn Star, Bellini or Mojito to start but could also have beers, wines or spirits. The Porn Star (my choice of cocktail) was made perfectly and they made them upon request.
They had asked us what type of music we would like and we chose 80s. The music was loud enough to still be able to speak/shout at each other and the party got going really quickly and everybody had a fantastic time and the atmosphere was great.
It was a very good venue for a party of 40-50 people maybe a few more, but if you are thinking of going with a couple of friends, it would be too quiet. Apart from us 40 there were only 2 other people in the whole place and it was not as though there was a Private Party sign outside stopping people from coming in.
Highly recommended for a large group
