Visited with my teenage son in October to see the band 'Wage War' alongside some other excellent support bands.
Queuing starts early and goes round the block down a side road. We weren't bothered about where we stood but if you are after a place close to the stage you will of course have to queue early.
The ticket conditions stated that my son's age group was allowed accompanied by an adult, but the door staff still wanted ID from him (he's 17) - luckily they accepted his travel pass but they advised next time to bring a photo of his passport. Therefore it seems they are stricter on age than advised on the booking info.
Inside is a large downstairs area, but we were happier in the smaller upstairs area - we found standing positions on a platform right at the back with a railing to lean on in front. There are also some high stools overlooking the downstairs area, but these were all taken. There is also seating and tables in a room alongside the upper area if you want to leave the concert and have a drink and chat. As an all-standing venue, this could be useful for accompanying parents to sit in if attending with youngsters! However, luckily I was happy to see the bands anyway!
There is a bar upstairs that sells a decent range of drinks and the two bar staff were very nice and efficient, and wait times for that bar were minimal.
Acoustics for the music were excellent from where we were.

As venues go this is a good one for a gig, but the security team are useless . Took a pack of chewing gum off me after a bag search as it’s prohibited (my bad for not reading the terms and conditions before arriving), but then didn’t bother taking anyone’s joints off them, so the whole place was full of people openly smoking weed. Chewing gum clearly a bigger problem for them! Anyway hope the security guard who took my Wrigley’s off me enjoyed the free pack of gum!

Went for Oktoberfest, which it turned out was just an excuse to drink. There were some German beers on offer, and allegedly some German style sausages for sale, but we never saw them. There was a brass band and a DJ, but nothing German about them. It was a just a big drink and dance party. Ended at 9pm, which seemed really odd. There's a sign on the way in warning of pickpockets, and loads of beefy security guards. My guess is it can get pretty rowdy.

I was lucky enough to see Theory of a dead man here and had a fantastic time. The venue is close to the tube and other public transport so getting there and home is no problem. It is also situated in Camden which has a multitude of pubs bars and restaurants so there's something to do before and after any events you go to. The venue itself is small enough to feel close to the band but big enough for a fantastic atmosphere (as long as the performance is up to it). There are 2 or bars inside and the staff were good as gold when we were there. I would recommend the venue and will be looking forward to my next visit.

Great historical venue which caters well for gig goers eg two well staffed & stocked bars. Security usually get poor rap but have to say that on this occasion they dealt with crowdsurfers in a good humoured way and gave out cold water. All added up to a very good night Excellent. One minus -no cameras

We visited The Electric Ballroom on a Sunday for a rockabilly afternoon called Bop-A-Lena's. The door bouncer was so kind took our picture etc. Bar staff a bit rushed and bar is London prices but all the staff we kind , polite and we had a fantastic experience. In the heart of Camden surrounded by the coolest shops. A true London experience.

Came here for the Desertfest 2022, last visited Desertfest 2019….
Awesome venue for this festival. Truckfighters, 1000Mods, Lowrider, Orange Goblin etc…. Acoustics seem to fit this type of music and the space in the main room itself is good. There’s an upstairs balcony area with a bar, where you can see the main stage. Toilets are ok , as good as you’ll get for this kind of venue.
Drinks were mid priced, staff get busy between bands….. worse was a 20 minute wait. Make sure you double up on orders!
In 2022, you got access to this venue alongside the Black Heart, Dev and Underworld etc BUT not the Roundhouse….. for future desertfesters travelling to London for the festival make sure you buy full tickets that include the Roundhouse as the other venues are basically nasty pubs with a stage in them….. at least the standard tickets include this hidden gem.
Will return again

Visited Electric Ballroom for the Sunday afternoon Bopalena’s dance. The event is brilliant but the venue is let down by the fact I was ripped off behind the bar. Every round was a different price and it culminated in one that was £25 for two beers and a double vodka and Diet Coke !! Buying an individual beer was £5 ish so clearly they make up the prices when you buy spirits and mixers.

The venue itself it's cool, most staff are nice but few bouncers have a disgustingly thuggish, aggressive and confrontational attitude. Me, my girlfriend and a friend were told to "f**k off" repeatedly by one of them near the exit at the end of the gig after he pushed me towards the exit for no reason, people were still leaving the venue and I was only waiting for my girlfriend, as I explained few times, to come back from the toilets.
Also, when we asked for his name he said it was "none of our business".
Since when bouncers can tell you to f**k off or push you for no reason? Invading personal space and be confrontational is the worst possible way to deal with people. Are these guys even trained to work as a security staff or they're just there hoping to find someone to beat up?
They ruined our evening which had been great so far.
I am not going to comment on what I think about these sad people and how important is that a venue ensures that their staff treat costumers fairly.

Great venue for music drinks. The staff are fantastic and went above and beyond to resolve an issue. A special mention to the head bouncer (Sidney) and his team who collectively displayed excellent professionalism and character to ensure a happy resolution. 10/10

Hi, does the cloakroom also accept bags and how much does it cost?
Written August 3, 2020
I believe they do take bags. I am sorry but don’t remember the price.
Written August 4, 2020
Hi it’s 99% standing with just a few stools around on the first floor.

Hi is this venue ok for the slightly older music lover - 50s? I don’t want to feel old coming here for gig? I’m hoping it’s all ages?
Written October 25, 2019
Hi I am 50 & love it there. I have seen several bands there over the years & it’s great for all ages. Enjoy your gig.

Is there good air conditioning? And can people go outside for fresh air when they wish to?
Written July 28, 2019
Hi it is quite cool in there, but when the headline act comes on it will be packed so it gets a little hotter.
People go outside to smoke so you can always pop outside.
Upstairs is cooler but you need to get there early to get a good spot.

Do they actually check IDs of 16 yr olds at gigs? Would you be allowed in without one?
Written June 19, 2019
Most venues have to check ages if there is a stipulation on age. I wouldn’t risk going without an ID.
Written June 19, 2019
Is there any seating available for gigs? I am aware there is an upstairs, but the “See Inside” video on the website shows nothing of that, and I cannot find an answer!!
Written June 12, 2019
Hi there are a few stools upstairs for seating. Also other seats but you can’t see the stage from them.
Written June 17, 2019
Do they open the cloakroom on gig nights?
Written September 28, 2018
They certainly did when we visited - it looked like a normal service.
