Splendid pub
Aug 2021
The Carnarvon Castle is a splendid pub tucked away down a side-st from the main shopping area, a great place to get away from the shoppers, friendly staff, good range of alcohol on draught - Amstel & Guinness, nice English interior, well worth a pint or two.

Great pub.

Tucked away down Tarleton Street just off the busy shopping streets is The Carnarvon Castle Pub,a pub I occasionally drop into.
This pub is small but so cute,a long narrow bar, pubby decor and furnishings with outside seating, its just a great pub.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Friday afternoon ,we track and traced and sanitised our hands, we sat outside were we ordered a beer each, served iced cold, we just kicked back, soaked up the sunshine while sipping our beers.
My beer was really good, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style bursting with taste, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good watching the world pass by while sipping our beers.
We really enjoyed our beers in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to The Carnarvon Castle Pub we had a great time.
The Canarvon Castle Pub is easy to locate along Tarleton Street.
Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The best pub in Liverpool
Jun 2021
The Carnarvon is one of the best pubs in Liverpool (if not the best)! The staff are absolutely fantastic and can't do enough for you while you enjoy the brilliant pints and listen to stories from characters from all over the city. A place you can go into for a quick pint and end up staying the full day.

The Carnarvon Castle Is A Great Little Pub In Liverpool City Centre That Offers A Fine Range Of Beers And Is A Handy Pub While Shopping In The City Centre. This Is A Very Old Pub And Has Been Opened Since 1859 This Splendid Two Roomed Pub Has Been Refurbished And Looks Superb With Brand New Tiling And Carpets And Toilets Which Were Somewhat Neglected. This Is A Great Little Pub And A Pub We Have Visited Lots Of Times Over The Years And Is About The Most Central Pub In The City Centre. When We Visited We Gave Details For The Track And Trace And Were Led To A Table In The Back Room And Ordered A Few Glasses Of Wainwrights Brewery Golden Ale Served In Perfect Condition. This Is A Fabulous Little Pub With Bags Of Character And Is Always Worth A Visit When In The City Centre. This Is A Very Easy Pub To Locate From Central Train Station Turn Left On Ranelagh Street Then Right Onto Church Street Then Turn Right Onto Tarleton Street.(This Is My First Review The Carnarvon Castle).

Busy pub .
Aug 2020 • Friends
The Carnarvon Castle Pub is a great little pub I always enjoy visiting if I'm in this part of town.
I love the look of this pub ,its only a tiny pub ,lovely decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling shopping streets around this pub.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday evening, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a real ale each, we opted to have a pale ale each, these were served in excellent condition,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in.
Despite the doomsday scenario threw up by the horrible sensationalist and ill informed newspapers that all little pubs would go out of business because of the coronavirus pandemic visited upon us proved unfounded as pubs such as The Carnarvon Castle Pub thrive as the staff are great and deal with the public with a sensible approach.
My pale ale was outstanding, a rich, well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops, very easy to drink, a beer style I really enjoy.
We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Carnarvon Castle Pub is easy to locate along Tarleton Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 11am till 11pm.
Sunday, Midday till 10.30pm.
A great pub, well worth a visit if you're in the area.

One of Liverpool's hidden gems.
Apr 2020 • Friends
The Carnarvon Castle Pub is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite pubs in Liverpool, a proper back street city centre pub that's always joy to visit.
I love the look of this pub ,its has a long narrow interior, dark wood beamed ceilings, original old fireplaces,a cosy inviting serving bar, vintage travel posters and photos of Liverpool from the last century adorn the walls and theres plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling shopping streets around this pub.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Wednesday night, pub was rammed ,we were spotted by a barmaid who served us immediately, great service when you consider how busy this pub was on our visit, after a quick study of the beers and ale's we both opted to have Theakston Brewery " old peculier " ,this classic pale ale was served in excellent condition, we stood near the bar were we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My pale ale was really good, " old peculier " is one of my favourite ale's, smooth, strong and mellow with hints of banana and black cherry aroma's ,you can really taste the fuggle hops and at 5.6% ABV an ale with a bit of a kick to it ,a classic British pale ale .
My twin brother Stephen and I really enjoyed our ale's in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another ale each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Carnarvon Castle Pub is easy to locate ,walk down Church Street and cut onto Tarleton Street were you will find this superb back street pub.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 11am till 11pm.
Sunday, Midday till 10.30pm.
A fantastic pub,a hidden gem, most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.

The only problem is the ale.........if you want top quality, well-looked after ale, go elsewhere. Such a shame.

A One off pub
Sep 2019
The Carnarvon Castle is a total one off that is right in the middle of Liverpool city center yet a total one off, No nuke box, No fruit machine No TV, Just back ground music supplied by the radio. This pub serves lots of different beers and bar food snacks including sandwiches. Its 2 mins from Liverpool one . If you fancy a beer out of the madness and like to watch the world go by. Try the here
