We had wanted to visit this “secret” bar for a while and my partner and I, his sister and her fiancé came here June 2019 after we’d been for a meal elsewhere in town. When we arrived there was a small queue but within a couple of minutes the friendly doormen let us in and we were shown to a table. There seemed to be a nice atmosphere, the place is narrow and quite dark inside adding to its atmosphere. We were given drinks menus to order our cocktails and I was disappointed as it was all bourbon or gin cocktails but nothing with vodka etc. My partner and his sisters fiancé seemed to like their cocktails but me and his sister both ordered the same and it wasn’t very nice just very strong with a chemically flavour. Because of the lack of choice on the menu and also I felt our waitress could have been more welcoming (perhaps she was just having a bad day we all have them) and although it seems to be a popular place so maybe I was unlucky but I couldn’t give this place on this visit any more than 2 stars. A shame really!

Black fronted bar with no signage or bell. Knock on the door and if there is room you will enter a single roomed pub with a prohibition style air. Attentive staff table serve a huge range of drinks and some truely amazing cocktails. A good place for a first date or to impress visitors from out of town. Be prepared to wait outside for a table to be ready, as this place is very popular.

Came here on the weekend with my boyfriend, this place is amazing and the atmosphere was great. The cocktails where lovely my boyfriend had the old fashioned and he loved them I had the strawberry fizz it was very fruity which I like, the staff where really friendly watching them make the drinks was really interesting as well. The place is small but it’s worth it, it was packed when we went but we just waited and we really enjoyed ourself. Music was great would definitely return

Have been here before - the place has no sign - just a black frontage (usually with a queue outside which gives it away) Has a kind of 1920s prohibition vibe with the cocktail menu hidden inside novels. Good cocktails made with care - all the classics plus some house specials too. Never hassled to leave even when busy - iced water served too which is a nice touch.
