It was an informative tour. We didn’t know Liverpool would be so rich in history. Special thanks to Vincent Clarke, our guide, who brought us all around Liverpool to learn about its history. He also introduced to us some of the popular dine-in spots along bold street and Shiverpool - a theatrically led ghost tour. Will recommend this walking tour and Shiverpool if you are visiting Liverpool!

I have used Sandeman’s walking tours in locations around the world and have always had a good time. Now, I seek out the iconic red umbrellas because I know the tour will be interesting and detailed.
This is absolutely personified by Vincent, who is a local man with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the city. Vincent is happy to supplement the standard tour with his own recommendations for bars and restaurants which really gives an authentic feel to the trip.
I’d heartily recommend this tour.

I found a lot of added value in having the tour guided by a Liverpool local (soft accent though, perfectly understandable for non native speakers). Vicent told us things we could have found on history books (in an entertaining and interesting manner) and things we couldn't have because they were his perspective of recent historic events as someone from the city with friends and family in the city. Great time, will make sure everyone who visits Liverpool does this tour!

Free tour with Vincent, lovely introduction to the city. I’ve done this tour in Edinburgh too, they never disappoint.
Vincent was full of interesting facts, obviously knew the city backwards and made the 2.5 hours fly by. Highly recommended.
Just one note (for Sandemans, not Vincent!) the starting point is all cordoned off for works, so the start is really hard to find. Please send an alternative start point OR a map or note for people coming from the Station!

Really enjoyed this free walking tour with our guide Matthew. Weather was wet and windy but Matthew made the tour enjoyable and informative, finding us dry and warmer areas to stop at to impart his knowledge of Liverpool's history and culture. Interesting stop offs at library, the docks, Cavern area, statues etc with a 15 minute coffee/comfort break in between. Tour took nearly 3 hours and I would thoroughly recommend.

We have been on many free walking tours but our tour of Liverpool with Matthew as our guide was one of the very best! Although the group was quite large, Matthew managed to keep everyone fully engaged with his expert story-telling abilities and vast knowledge of the history of Liverpool. We are not from Liverpool and enjoyed everything about the tour. We are so pleased that our Liverpudlian relatives joined us today and also thoroughly enjoyed Matthew’s tour. They learned many new things about their hometown and now plan to go on other Sandeman tours. Thank you, Matthew!

Allen was a wonderful guide! He is extremely knowledgeable, witty, and passionate about his job! He went above and beyond to show off the historic sites and landmarks of Liverpool and created a great atmosphere while doing so. If you are in the area and want to get a better feel for the city, don't miss out on this tour! It finishes near Albert Dock and many of the (free) museums so you can have the afternoon to wander through them as well. Can't recommend highly enough!

Terrible experience because the tour guide simply did not bother to turn up. Despite having pre-booked online during which you have to provide both an email address and a mobile telephone number, nobody from the company contacted us to say the tour was cancelled or that the guide was not turning up. We were just left standing there like lemons. To date, some four days later there has been no contact or explanation from the company following the no show. I tried to contact the service providers based in Germany on the day of the tour but the telephone went unanswered despite numerous attempts. The guide not showing up seems to a feature of late when you read other reviews. We had arrived at the meet point earlier than requested and waited way past the tour starting time, along with others who had booked the tour, no-one turned up and no-one contacted us. It may be free (despite the requested gratuity at the end of the tour) but a total waste of time

Me and my girlfriend did this free tour with Mathew as our guide and would totally recommend.
Mathew had a great sense of humor and was able to combine facts of both past and recent history of the city, as well as cultural, for example football & music, which are essentials in Liverpool's legacy.
Go for it !

This is an amazing tour around the city! Our guide Vincent was fantastic, we were lucky to have him, he knows the city like the back of his hand and is full of recommendations to have a great time here. Fully recommended if you want to have fun and learn a lot about the city's history and culture. Whether you are visiting or living here, it is totally worth it!

Hi, I am a secondary school teacher who will be bringing some students (50) into Liverpool, primarily to learn about the two Cathedrals but more generally places of worship in the City Centre. Are you able to give a religion/culture tour? Wednesday 23rd is the date. Regards, peter

We are arriving next June by way of cruise ship. We don't know how far it would be to set up these tours and get to start point. Any suggestions, perhaps arrange a ride from the ship??

Hello
Sorry for the delay. Nots are where the cruise ship docks, however the local taxis are really cheap so think it will be easy for you to find the meeting place. The tours are twice a day I think - all the info is on their website.
Have a wonderful holiday in the UK.

Where does the Beatles to the Blitz tour finish?

Hi Katy B,
Thanks for your question!
The exact location depends on each guide, however, the Beatles to the Blitz Tour usually ends at the Metropolitan Cathedral.
If you need to know anything else, please don't hesitate to ask!
All the best,
Roberto

Hi Paul,
Many thanks for your question and your interest in our tours!
In order to join the tour, you have two options:
You can arrive at the meeting point (without a prior booking) 15 minutes before the tour begins, and sign up right there and then.
Or, you can book the tour whenever you like on our website; neweuropetours.eu and simply show our staff your ticket at the meeting point.
If you need to know anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.
All the best,
Roberto
Gracias.
Susana.

Hi Sofie Anna N!
If you mean Portia, then she's scheduled to work on both the 6th and 7th of May on the 11am tour. However, it's worth noting that guides' shifts may change before then.
I hope you enjoy the tour!
All the best,
Roberto
