It's a good club for the people who play there, but there are some downsides..! The good The people who play are really really good and they play decent sets! The drinks are pretty well priced, and the bar service tends to be quite quick and they're friendly and accurate. The bad The rooms are absolutely rammed (needs better aircon!) it's really really dirty, there's was hardly any toilet roll, the toilets flooded and one actually fell off that wall! The cloakroom was disorganised and they almost lost my ticket number on my coat. Overall an average to good night WORD OF WARNING Get a taxi from down the road, if you get a taxi from right outside the club they charge you three times as much.

I have never been to festivals as I am not a fan of the idea as a whole. However, Cream were hosting an event at Nation with guest DJ's such as Paul Van Dky and Oliver Heldon etc so I thought that I would give it a try along with my friends as I thought that it would be a good middle ground. We followed a crowd of people along with our trusty Google satnavs on our phones, otherwise I think that it would of been rather hard to find. Upon arrival outside the club, there was a sense of a real police/ security presence with the big vans parked there and driving through, which I actually liked. We also noticed that some of the security staff had sniffer dogs, which I can imagine was to deter those who were thinking of taking drugs into the club. On the night itself, we managed to enter the club really quickly, although there was some slight confusion as to which entrance of the two we should be using. The staff were efficient and friendly, especially the male door staff. The waiting in line for such a short amount of time is a major plus point, nobody enjoys that especially myself and it was an incredibly cold night. Being served at the bars took a while, which I didn't mind as it was packed, although I have to say the bar staff weren't keeping track on approximately who was next to be served. They seemed to be serving those that pushed their way to the front which just happened to be very attractive but overly made up females. However, I have worked in the industry when I was younger and understand how hectic and hard it can be when there is such a volume of people. In terms of price I think drinks cost about £4 each for a vodka and redbull. Which isn't that bad considering how much some of the major clubs charge these days and the fact it was such a large event. Similarly to the other review, I was expecting a larger space on the inside of the club especially as it is so well known and that it was hosting such a massive event. Despite it being packed i could move around easily and managed to get a spot right in-front of the DJ sets for the majority of the evening. I found it rather confusing trying to get from one room to another too. I have to say though that it does get incredibly hot inside there. There was a constant queue for the ladies toilets which was rather boring, especially as a lot of other women seemed to disregard said queue and push their way in. There was also a male toilet attendant who kept going in and out throughout the night, I think he was replenishing toilet rolls. Some of the toilets weren't too clean and probably shouldn't of been used after a certain point too. Both visible and plain clothed security staff were incredibly visible, however I found this rather reassuring and I think that it is a positive rather than a negative. I don't know if they were expecting a lot of trouble from fellow clubbers or not or if this was just policy. Although I wasn't watching the security staff and I was only in certain rooms, during the whole of the night, I only saw one incident where someone was causing trouble and the staff dealt with this efficiently and professionally.

As a seasoned festival goer, and certain club events around the UK, I had to check Nation out...being home of "Cream". I have been to a few Creamfields festivals, but never a Cream club event itself. Ironically the event I went to was not for Cream itself, but the Bestival (Bestival festival) club night there, for those that died returning to Liverpool from Bestival festival last year. As I am a Bestival goer, this was a way to do both at once! Plus points:- The night I was there was quick entry. The staff were efficiently taking large numbers lining up to enter through a secondary way in. So I was only about 10 seconds in the line. So that was a big thumbs up. No one likes standing in line to get into a club, and I literally walked straight in. Other nights maybe different though. I was quickly served at the bars all night. Doesn't always happen in clubs.. Neutral points:- I was expecting a little more space on the inside, for a club of such fame, but I could generally move around fine all night long. I am not sure how much this varies if it is packed to the rafters at Cream nights though. Negative points:- (I could not decide whether to knock a mark or two off the rating because of thse negative points) The choice of "beer/lager" at the bar was bad. (But the bar staff excellent). Quality clubs should have quality beers. That lets it down. Only two sorts of "beer" when I was there and I dislike them both. Not keen on the gentlemen in the mens lavatories offering to put soap etc on my hands. I just want quick and easy unhindered access to the sink myself Other points:- Both visible and "plain clothes" club staff can be seen mingling about the place. I am not sure if that means they expect problems or not. I am a picky clubber...so perhaps the acid test is would I go back....and the answer is yes. If they are doing my sort of music that is, naturally! I did feel relaxed and "at home" as soon as I got in the club. A good event on in this club would make me come up from the south coast of England again to Liverpool
