The Central is a brilliant pub that offer's an excellent range of well priced drinks and is located on Ranelagh street were there are many pubs/bars and restaurants.This is an excellent pub and a very popular pub that gets very busy most days of the week.
This pub has a brilliant interior with superb Victorian etched glasswork throughout the whole pubs magnificent interior.With many interesting fixtures and features and great seating options throughout the whole pubs interior its a great pub to relax and unwind with a few drinks.
We have been drinking in this fantastic pub for over forty year's and its as good now as it was all them years ago.We visited here in the evening on a freezing cold night and to be honest it wasn't that busy but we visited on a Monday night.
When we visited here we had a few glasses of Fosters brewery lagers which where well served and very well priced.A brilliant pub in a superb area and really easy to find as its a minute from Central train station.(This is my third review of the Central).

The Central Pub is a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip into Liverpool City Centre I take.
This pub has a wonderful interior ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room,a faux skylight,etched glass windows ,ornate mirrors ,big screens to enjoy the sport and lots of seating options both inside and outside looking out onto the bust Ranelagh Street.
We ordered and were served Fosters lager ,these were served freezing cold ,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
Not my normal tipple , more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but I must say it was quite tasty ,iced cold and sparkling and very easy to drink .
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Central Pub is easy to locate along Ranelagh Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,midday till 11pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Just after the 1st coronavirus pandemic lockdown restrictions were lifted and pre tier three coronavirus pandemic restrictions that ultimately led to the 2nd lockdown my twin brother Stephen and I decided to have a day out in town visiting some of the great pubs our city has to offer and The Central Pub is a pub we always look forward to visiting.
I love the look of this pub,as traditional as an interior you will find in any pub in Liverpool, beautifully etched glass panels throughout this pub,a wonderful faux skylight, great decor and furnishings including a superb solid wood serving bar that dominates the main room and tv's to enjoy the sport, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a great locals pub thats always a joy to drop into.
We were here on a Saturday evening, greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we ordered a fruit cider each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in.
My cider was really good,iced cold,effervescent and very refreshing indeed, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew.
We really enjoyed our ciders in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Central Pub is easy to locate along Ranelagh Street, a street and area teeming with pubs and bars.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till 11pm.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 12 30am.
Sunday, Midday till 11pm.
A great pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.

My twin brother Stephen and I dropped into The Central Pub as we were pub and bar hopping around this part of town and what a great time we had.
I love the look of this very traditional pub ,a dark solid wood serving bar that dominates the main room ,great decor and furnishings including some amazing etched glass mirrors and despite its relatively small size there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a great pub to chill out in.
We were here o a Tuesday night,pub was busy,we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the staff ,we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a Strongbow dark fruit cider,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My cider tasted amazing, a crisp,fruity and iced cold cider,it certainly cut through the thirst, a totally refreshing brew.
We both really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.

The 17th of May marked yet another giant step forward for the hard hit hospitality sector with pubs and bars being allowed to reopen with outside and inside service so it was just so good jumping the early train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre with my twin brother Stephen visiting some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, we exited Liverpool Central Railway Station onto Ranelagh Street and the first pub we visited was The Central Pub.
This is a splendid Victorian pub,the interior is as traditional as you can get in Liverpool, dark wood features, mirrors,etched glass,a wonderful solid wood serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Ranelagh Street.
We were here on a Wednesday early afternoon, greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we track and traced and grabbed a table, after a quick study of their drinks on offer we opted to have Strongbow cider ,we payed contactless and our cider's arrived iced cold and sparkling, we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our cider's.
My cider was just so good,a crisp,effervescent cider bursting with taste, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in a great pub enjoying a delicious cider and socialising again albeit socially distanced ( until the 21st of June when fingers crossed back to normality ) .
We really enjoyed our cider's in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Central Pub is so easy to find ,exit Liverpool Central Railway Station onto Ranelagh Street and the pub is across the road.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till 11pm.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till Midnight.
Sunday, 11am till 11pm.
An absolutely fantastic pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Went here as it was the least crowded bar in Ranelagh St last night. I'd forgotten how beautiful it is inside original domed ceiling and ornate etched mirrors. The lady who greeted and seated us and offered the current table service worked really hard seating serving taking card payments etc. there were only 2 bar staff for around 40 tables I reckon but also remained very friendly. Felt covid safe as staff constantly reminding customers to wear face covering when moving away from your table. Enjoyed our visit and enjoyed the buzz in the city as we've been visiting less recently.

The Central is a lovely traditional pub with exquisite internal decor (etched glass mirrors, wooden panels, fireplace, signage etc). The locals are warm friendly and you will find yourself feeling welcome and like you’ve been going there for half your life even if it is your first visit. There’s no trouble striking up conversation. The staff too are friendly and service is good even when really busy. The Karaoke nights are great fun and there are regulars who will *really* entertain you. After all this COVID-19 nonsense is over this is the first pub we will visit in Liverpool...I wish all the staff well and look forward to seeing everybody again soon...

Go in here every week the karaoke and atmosphere are great but can't say the same about the bar staff. They are not welcoming at all even when it's not busy you still wait to get served. Have noticed that they will serve people they know first even when you've been waiting. It costs nothing to be pleasant and a smile would be nice.

It's always very busy of a Sunday but there is never any problem getting served. The beer is always excellent. Am not a great fan of karaoke,in fact I hate the damn thing, but this is the best karaoke show going.

I am not sure but a well worth a visit. It has a fantastic atmosphere the guy Richard who does the karreoke does a fantastic arrangement of songs through the night. And there are some very good regular singers that get up on a Sunday night. Put it this way a couple in their mid 50s the lady went in to only use the toilet. That was at about 8. They left just before we did and that was at 11.30. They said they would be going back :0)
