We were intrigued by the galley from a previous visit to Liverpool and decided to make a trip from Cheshire. Being an amateur photographer myself I anticipated that the gallery would contain images which I would find interesting. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement, the exhibits were very "abstract" and uninteresting and as far as I... More

I tend to visit each time there is a new exhibition. I must say that the work us not always to my taste, but photography is a very diverse subject and cannot ever appeal to everyone. It is a veritable oasis of peace and calm and always well worth a visit. There are events held, and the shop has a... More

The gallery is on the small side but has lots to show and is very modern and a very unusual gift shop too.

Small gallery but the exhibition we saw was great. Well laid out, pleasant staff also. They had a children's activity outside when we visited Saturday. Massive space however, feel like they could use it a bit better.

The exhibition this weekend was about the LGBT communities, although we have no connection with them we found it very interesting, especially the part showing the Gay & TG people living in the culverts of Jamaica. Worth seeing just for that.

So very simple and small space. Current exhibit as of 15/10/15 is called Rise by photographer Zanele Muholi. Her work is primarily portraits of South African LGBT community. The substantial amounts of monochrome portraits were stunning. There was a wealth of additional information. The pamphlet and accompanying films provided fascinating context. Two delightful knowledgeable staff on front of house were... More

Only three or so galleries, but well laid out. The photos were accompanied by interesting and informative text - particularly the room devoted to photos of young people in US detention centres.

We are not art enthusiasts but loved the photos in here and the stories behind them. The ones in the US jails were really thought-provoking. Our children were mesmerised. Not too much to see but very worthwhile.

Every time we do a circuit of the dock and then walk into town we pop in and it never disappoints. High quality exhibitions.Superb gallery. I wish they had more room to display but put it on your regular list of places to visit.
