Wanted to have a few drinks here for my birthday on May 9th, and even for a Monday it was quite busy. It took a fair while for us to be able to order drinks, and they told us they'd bring them to us, so we went and sat down. 30 minutes later I asked where our drinks were, they didn't have a clue what I was talking about even though it was the person that served me, so they took my order again, had me show them the transaction on my mobile banking, and gave me the drinks.
We didn't stay for another. There's a lot of different bars in this area, I'm not sure which we visited, but they all seemed to have around the same rate of service.

The best place is Wetherspoons, as it has a good atmosphere and friendly staff, Mccooleys,is for very young youngsters and they don’t even have a nice rose wine, I have left twice because they don’t provide anything but a stale bitter Rose, what’s wrong with a sweet and fruity one? Modo and the place beside it are overpriced and not very clean. I would avoid concert sqaure if you are a wine lover as none of these places have a sweet white, fruity red or sweet or fruity rose just really nasty all bitter and dry selections, what they fail to understand is that dry goes with food not with a sun night out and dancing.
The whole of concert sqaure needs to up their game a bit. Go no weekly but nothing ever changes and always end up leaving, and my stale bitter dry drink!

Don’t eat there! Processed sausages. I asked the waitress if they were quality sausages and she said yes! But rank disgusting mash from packet and lumpy gravy. Advice… don’t eat anywhere you pay up front, I complained but was totally ignored. So bad I feel sick so ruined the rest of day.

It's great to get out and about again since the 12th of April when some of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were lifted with pubs being allowed to reopen with outside service, one of the places we visited was Concert Square and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised.
The square which is made up of several big pubs and bars was full of outside seating options, busy but not packed, social distancing in operation, we sat outside McCooley's, we track and traced, we then ordered a beer each ,we payed contactless and our beers arrived in no time at all iced cold and sparkling, it was just so good chilling out and soaking up the Spring sunshine and to be honest socialising again albeit socially distanced.
We stayed in Concert Square for a couple of hours, visited Einsteins Bierhaus and Soho ,had a great time ,we were here midweek ,on a Thursday afternoon, the atmosphere was chilled , think come the weekend it could be a lot more raucous, Concert Square is easy enough to locate and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Concert Square gets a bad rap but it's always booming and it's always good craic. Favourite venues are Cheers for the Pizza and cocktails but Soho and McCooleys are good too. You can sit at Soho and get food from one of the outlets around the square.

This is the area of town that most try to avoid and with good reason. This is where the worst of the worst are sent to roll in their own filth, bathed in the cheapest, nastiest, alcohol and complimented by the most god-awful noise BOOMING out of the speakers like it was the end of the world.

This is the place you see on TV, where they try to make Liverpool look like nothing more than a joke.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. You can't even walk past it without somebody either trying to fight you or sell you drugs.

...then Concert Square is the place for you. This place is disgusting. Only the scuzz of the city choose to drink here. Avoid at all costs if you're visiting. If you're from here then you already know. If you like it there then we could never get along. Only useful as a shortcut. Grim. Grim. Grim.

Concert Square is about as far away from a good night out as I can imagine. All the bars are full of louts and play awful chart music. Would avoid at all costs unless you enjoy watching chavs flash their knickers whilst vomiting in their hair.
