This was a favorite hang-out for the Beatles and many other rock bands, which also served as a safe haven from their screaming teenage fans.

The pub is just ticking over on its reputation as the place the Beatles drank when not playing in the Cavern. At the rear of the pub are some interesting photos showing the Fab4 sitting in the pub, but that's it your done, the Bar staff are uninterested in the customer, with one just sat reading a book. Its grubby... More

The Beatles drank her in between sets at The Cavern...that's why it's so famous! So you have to go ther if you are a fan on the Beatles homage trip. But it's a nice old fashioned pub with character..,which so many pubs have lost these days.

This place is dirty and smells. This is easily the worst place I have been. It's hard to explain just how bad it is. The atmosphere is not bad but it is just filthy. The loos are disgusting. It is just not a nice place.

States in the MerseyAle magazine and in Camra Good beer guide has nine hand pumps serving changing cask ales, visited on a Sunday evening only had one draft beer on.and that wasn't anything of note. There were empty glasses everywhere so decided toleave.

Probably one of the dirtiest pubs I've ever been to. Dust and dirt everywhere, and my glass was dirty. The Beatles memorabilia helped a little bit. But other than that this place is a miss.

There is not a lot they can do about the pub, it's in a old part of Liverpool But they can do something about the staff. They think they are doing you a Favour just by serving you.the Beatles drank there but only because there Was no other pubs by the cavern at the time.I am a local and don't... More

A weekend in Liverpool and found this pub early on a Friday afternoon. Live music on then karaoke drinks reasonable. Returned Saturday evening and The place was packed, stayed nearly all the night. Friendly staff and all people just enjoying themselves and having a right laugh. Well worth a visit or two.

We went in with family and friends bar staff were rude and the staff were serving water without any vodk and charging for it. when we complained they got offended as we had other people in the pub test this and all said the same . It was only early evening around 7.00pm when we went in - absolutely horrendous... More

If you really want to soak up the atmosphere of Liverpool then there is no better place than The Grapes, Mathew Street, Liverpool. It's a typical " wipe you feet on the way out" type of sticky floor, noisy 5 deep at the bar type of pub, yet glance one way and there is a small stage where live groups... More
