This was a favorite hang-out for the Beatles and many other rock bands, which also served as a safe haven from their screaming teenage fans.

Definitely a pub worth visiting when you are in Mathew Street. Clientele are very friendly and out for a good time. Great atmosphere and it gets very busy particularly round the bar where it can be three or four deep..... but if you go away from the bar you are generally likely to find quite a few empty tables !!

Great pup. Great atmosphere. Karaoke and life music. The ale is cheap yet satisfying which is what you want from a pub. People very friendly. Bearded bar staff a miserable sod!

If you like the Beatles and would like to know what a pub was like 50 years ago then this place would be fine for you, if you like clean, smart, friendly kind of place give this a miss

Just popped in for a friend's quiet birthday pint. Young barmaid has no manners at all. I'm not expecting people to fall at my feet but very unpleasant and unwelcoming. No please or thank you. Completely lacking in basics. I used to work across the road and it used to be a lovely old pub with loads of character. It's... More

Very busy pub, obviously because of the connection to The Beatles. Lots of pictures on the walls including one where you can sit where The Beatles had their photo taken years ago. Karaoke on when we were here, prices are reasonable and a must for all Beatles fans.

The Beatles used the Grapes between set at the Cavern. Full of photos. Live music is far too loud. Gets very busy.

Bought two Bacardi and Cokes Saturday night, place was very full, paid £6.50. Only thing was there was no Bacardi in it. In effect paid that money for two cokes. When I approached the staff they almost laughed in my face and merely shewed me away. Absolutely horrendous, give this place a wide berth, Money down the grid and abusive... More

First visit to Liverpool, enjoyed our time in the Grapes pub. Friendly staff. Karaoke on our visit Sunday afternoon with mostly middle aged clients.

Visited this pub on Sunday last 24/7/16 with friends who had never been to Liverpool before, and was disappointed that no traditional beer was served. The Grapes is one of the most traditional looking pubs right in the heart of this great city,so i expected to be able to buy a pint of real ale. I bet real ale was available to... More
