This was a favorite hang-out for the Beatles and many other rock bands, which also served as a safe haven from their screaming teenage fans.

The Grapes kinda pushes itself re the Beatles connection which, to be honest, leaves me pretty cold. When we approached it on an early Saturday evening and it looked pretty busy, I thought we'd probably have a quick look then go elsewhere. We stayed! Karaoke is clearly a major theme here and though we tend to detest the genre, I... More

Here is a pub with fun. The pub was buzzing with locals, tourists, groups of friends and families alike. Everyone was having fun singing along to the karaoke and two DJ's who also gave some great sounds. The bar was understandably busy but there are plenty of staff to get you drinks quickly. Our party of 6, 3 couples, mixed... More

If you're in Liverpool then you have to try The Grapes, if only for one drink. Amongst the madness of Mathew Street this is a little oasis though still a brilliant atmoshere. The karaoke on a Sunday night is a particular favourite, might sound cheesy but its got to be seen to be believed - the place is always hopping... More

Came in here for drinks after a gig in the Cavern Club on a Thursday night. The place was very busy with locals more than tourists. There was singing and dancing with local ladies quite 'tanked up'! We managed to find a seat on the pew that had been made famous by the photograph of the Beatles on it. An... More

We visit Liverpool three or four times a year and always head for the Grapes Pub on Mathew Street. We usually have a our lunch here (the liver and onions is delicious) but unfortunately the kitchen was closed for refurbishment on this occasion. We did however sit and enjoy a good pint, surrounded by Beatles pictures and sixties articles when... More

Lovely to see the bar that John and Paul frequented while taking a break from Cavern club gigs. Still the original building, you can see where the boys sat in order to get a good view of the ladies changing after work to go to the gigs in the Cavern! Beer was the cheapest we had in Liverpool and good... More

A lovely little pub in the same street as the Cavern etc. The Beatles used to drink there before and after their Cavern performances, as Cavern did not serve alcohol in tbose days. The inside has been kept pretty much the same as it was then and there are photos and memorabila of the fab four all over the walls.... More

THE GRAPES PUB on Mathew Street is a lovely little local pub that has been around for many years and is a firm favourite with both tourist who flock to this famous street and people like myself who have been drinking here for many years. The pub is superb with photos and posters of The Beatles emphasising the groups association... More

Visited this pub before dinner after spending a great day sight seeing. Beer good, wine good music great, a guy playing a guitar and singing was fantastic.
