This is where the Quarrymen played the church fete in 1957, and where Paul was introduced to John ,by a mutual friend , in the church hall across the road. Also within the churchyard are the graves of Eleanor Rigby, John's uncle George (Mimi's husband) and Liverpool FC manager Bob Paisley. I had the privilege of meeting the verger Graham,... More

Lovely church built in the gothic style a church of the Anglican faith. At the entrance to the church there is a lychgate with a cross on top something not seen very often outside churches now a days very unusual and picturesque. In the grounds is a Celtic cross a memorial to the end of world war one. One of... More

A walk through time really. Where The Quarrymen played all these years ago. Eleanor Rigby's grave is here. All the lonely people. A lovely day when we visited and loved the atmosphere of the place and surrounding sighs.Great.

Yes, this poor lady's name was used posthumously in a Beatles song but other than being local to their birthplace as a band, there is no connection to them. Yes, it is another 'must do' attraction to tick off when visiting Liverpool but remember it is someone's last resting place and the dead should be respected. Please do not walk... More

Stopped by the church as part of a Beatles tour - didn't get to go inside. We did get to see the cemetary with Eleanor Rigby mentioned on a headstone - just incredible!

This really is a lovely church, well maintained and beautiful and serene inside. The church grounds is a graveyard and a great attraction to visitors to the city as there are the graves of Eleanor Rigby and Father McKenzie from the Beatles song of the same name.

This is full of history and fame, and that is just in the graveyard!. Situated in a beautiful part of Liverpool, in the heart of Beatle history.
