A busy pub
Aug 2021 • Friends
It's great to see the hospitality sector getting back to normal with pubs, bars and restaurants at last starting to get back to pre pandemic levels of fullness ,my twin brother Stephen and I visited Great Charlotte Street and hit some of the great pubs along this party street, one of the first pubs we ventured into eas Nelly Foley's Pub.
This is a big single roomed Irish pub ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport, a stage area for live music ,pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a cracking pub to chill out in.
We were here on a Tuesday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a guinness each, guinness was poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
My guinness was absolutely superb, a rich, thick and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste, on a hot evening a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and to be honest seeing pubs such as Nelly Foley's Pub bouncing again.
We really enjoyed our guinness in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to Nelly Foley's Pub we had a great experience.
Nelly Foley's Pub is easy to locate along Great Charlotte Street, a street and area teeming with pubs and bars.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till Midnight.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 2am.
Sunday, 11am till Midnight.
A wonderful pub,if you're in the area a pub I highly recommend you visit.

Before the 3rd national lockdown descended my twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre and visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, while wandering around the area around Liverpool Central Railway Station we dropped into Nelly Foley's Pub and what a great visit.
I love visiting this pub, the interior is superb, a big single roomed pub dominated by a solid wood serving bar, all the Irish bric a brac adorning the walls you would expect to find in a good Irish pub, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, all in all a cracking pub to visit
We were here on a Wednesday night, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, social distancing was in operation, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we were allocated a table were as part of the governments guildlines of having a substantial meal with alcohol we ordered a hot dog each and for our drinks pints of guinness, guinness was poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle,we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My guinness was absolutely superb, a thick, creamy, rich and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste, very easy to drink, while sipping our guinness our meals arrived and they were lovely.
To me the perfect meal to go with a beer or guinness is a hot dog , served steaming hot, nice filling and surrounded by crisps, just delicious, went with our guinness so well.
We both really enjoyed our meals and 1st guinness and the great vibe in this busy and popular pub so much so that we ended up staying for another two pints of guinness each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
Nelly Foley's Pub is easy to locate along Great Charlotte Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and when the 3rd and final lockdown is lifted, I personally think this pub will reopen on the 17th of May when inside and outside service is permitted.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping down Great Charlotte Street and decided to drop into Nelly Foley's Irish Pub ,a pub I always enjoy visiting.
The interior of this pub is lovely 😍, a big single room dominated by a solid wood serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport, all the Irish bric a brac adorning the walls you would expect to find in a good Irish pub and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a fun and lively Irish pub that's just a joy to have a few drinks 🍸 in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Tuesday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a fruit cider ,I know its sacrilege to not order a guinness in here but it was such a hot afternoon and I needed something to quench my thirst.
The cider served here was spot on ,a crisp, tasty and most importantly iced cold cider that was just what I needed to cool down with 😋 .
We both really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Nelly Foley's Irish Pub we had a very pleasant time.

Nelly Foley's Is Another Superb Irish Pub In Liverpool City Centre That Offers A Decent Range Of Beers And Spirits And Is On One Of The Busiest Streets For Pubs And Bars In The City Centre. They Host Live Music In Here During The Week And It Can Get Very Busy In Here Especially Over The Weekend Or Bank Holiday Periods. This Pubs Interior Has A Mock-Irish Look And Feel With Lots Of Irish Whisky And Guinness Signs On All The Walls And A Nice Long Bar.We Visited Here While Walking Towards Central Train Station And Decided To Have A Couple Of Strongebow Brewery Fruit Ciders Served In Perfect Condition And Price Wise On A Par With The Other Pubs And Bars Around The Great Charlotte Street Area. This Is A Great Pub And Well Worth A Visit If Ever You Are In This Area Of The City Centre.Easy To Go From Central Train Station Take A Right On Renelagh Street And Then Left Onto Great Charlotte Street A Few Minutes Walk.(This Is My First Review Of Nelly Foley's).
Opening Hours.
Monday-Friday-11.00-00.00.

A pleasant afternoon drink
Aug 2020
We popped in for a drink and found it safe, clean and very pleasant. All measures were in place to keep customers safe although we were not asked for our contact details for the purposes of track and trace.

GOOD FRIENDLY BAR
May 2019 • Friends
We visited Nelly Foley’s Irish Bar during a mid-week afternoon. Drinks were really cheap with a pint of Carling on offer at just £2.10. I think Coors was about £2! To be honest, we were quite impressed with the place. It’s not the biggest of bars but the staff and locals are friendly. I believe that they also have a loyalty card system up and running with a few of the other bars in the area.
