Booked for my husband as a Christmas present. Adam was a knowledgeable tutor and provided some great advice. Enjoyed his informal approach and the combination of cathedral history and photographic tips. An excellent and very enjoyable morning. Thank you Adam.

Another great experience with Adam Winfield of Lincolnshire Photo Training. If he does another Cathedral roof tour suggest you book early. Photography advice from Adam and a cathedral tour guide too to tell you all about it. Best of both worlds. Highly recommended.

An opportunity to be led by a Cathedral guide around the roof space of Lincoln Cathedral and to hear some of the history of this wonderful building - and of course to photograph it from angles and perspectives normally unavailable.
This was a larger group - about 10 people - so Adam's time and advice were divided more ways than on the smaller street walks, but he helps with advice and comment and in pointing out perspectives and views that might otherwise be missed. Also with technical help where needed - camera settings and so on. Well worth doing this tour and allowed me to experiment with exposure bracketing to try to work round the low-light conditions.

A great walk lead by Adam Winfield, his advice is clear and concise and he will answer even what you may think of as the most basic questions about your camera or settings, a natural teacher and always friendly and helpful.

This Photo Walk was led by Adam Winfield and consisted of 5 customers. We started the walk outside the Tourist Information Centre and completed an almost circular walk and ended in the Cathedral café. The walk was divided into short sections and at the beginning of each Adam gave a brief introduction and made suggestions of what might make a good image. The last 30 minutes of the tour was spent discussing the images and possible further work over a cup of coffee. A great introduction to Street Photography.

This time, a photowalk led by Adam round Ancient Lincoln - from the Castle Square, round the Steep Hill area and then back to the Cathedral (exterior only). Enjoyed it greatly; some good photographic advice, hints and tips, and a chance to learn more about things I would have passed by unknowingly, otherwise.
Adam's good at what he does and good at communicating information. Well worth £15 for the tour. There were four of us all told, plus Adam, so small group dynamics make it a pleasant, positive, friendly event.

I signed up for one of Adam's Lincoln Cathedral photowalks because I wanted to learn stuff from One Who Knows that might one day turn me into a reasonable photographer. I mean, I understand all the stuff about depth of field, colour temperature, aperture / shutter speed priority at least in principle but knowing that doesn't get good photographs.
The Cathedral is a stunning building and Adam knows a lot about it, which he shares on the way round. He's patient and encouraging and makes suggestions as to how to give pictures more of that "zing" thing that mine usually lack.
I thoroughly enjoyed the photowalk and the company of the other people in the group, as well as the tuition. I'm not about to become Lincoln's answer to Man Ray or Ansel Adams but every small step along the way helps - if only with confidence! The photowalk isn't expensive, it is instructive and helpful, and it doesn't matter if you have a little point and shoot pocket camera or more capable gear - I've learned the hard way that it's not about knowing some of the techy stuff and having a pile of kit. You could do this and learn a load with a smartphone.
And you should!
