One of only four copies of the Magna Carta. Over 800 years old and thought provoking. It is one of the most important documents in history as it established the principle that everyone is subject to the law, even the king, and guarantees the rights of individuals, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial.

Not only is an Original Copy of the Magna Carta normally on display - but a 20 film with a great explanation of the history of it. (Moreover - you walk through a well preserved Victorian prison to get there!

Very disappointed having paid entrance fee to be told that that Magna Carta was not present as it was away for conservation purposes . The 2 short films were informative and well made.

It is a place very understated, but so poignant, It was wonderful to read about it and realise it's importance to everyone still to this day. It's setting is dark and still with no outside noise and that lets you feel the past while you look. Great memory!
