It is a place very understated, but so poignant, It was wonderful to read about it and realise it's importance to everyone still to this day.
It's setting is dark and still with no outside noise and that lets you feel the past while you look. Great memory!

As a piece of English history this document has to be one of the most famous. Excellent to see it on display.

When we visited the film show was broken so I'm unable to give it 5 stars but it was interesting to see the actual document rather than a facsimilie.

It is incorporated into the Lincoln Castle entrance fee so there are plenty of other things to see if this is not your bag.

You are not allowed to take photos but there are plenty of photos available online or in the gift shop

A really nice - short - video explaining the history of the Magna Carta and its relationship with Lincs, well as the actual documents (a later version of the Charter of the Forest) Well worth a visit; although an hour (unless you’re having a cuppa) is over egging the pudding.

Not only is an Original Copy of the Magna Carta normally on display - but a 20 film with a great explanation of the history of it.
(Moreover - you walk through a well preserved Victorian prison to get there!

Visited the castle on the Sunday mainly to see the Magna Carta. But on that day there were a number of things to see and do. Archery, falconry and equestrian events. There was also a Lego exhibition with models relating to the moon landing. Well worth the visit and the entrance fee.

This is within the castle, but if you want to see the Magna Carta you should check online first, as it is not always there. Good film presentation about it, Very informative.

It was an honour to see the Magna Carta. an iconographic item of British history. But what really blew me away was the knowledge of the guide in attendance. He volunteered so much information and his passion for these documents was palpable. This is a serious bit of our constitutional history...they might appear to be small pieces of vellum with virtually illegible writing but they define us as a nation.

There's actually not much to see. The film is OK and explains quite a lot of detail, there are three separate pages of TBH unreadable text and then you go back out to the prison which was really rather good.

The guide tells you all about the Magna Carta and there is also a really informative film to watch . I would say an absolute must see given its historical significance. There is a lift to access so would be suitable for everyone.

This is a small, dimly-lit room (for conservational reasons) with two medieval documents and a J K Rowling book. Before entering, there is a very good film show for almost 20 minutes which explains the context of the documents.
