We opted for the six course tasting menu (must book in advance) and it was really good. The service is excellent and we really enjoyed it. It is expensive but you get what you pay for and theservice alone justifies the expense every once in a while.

Apparently this place is one of the oldest houses in the British Isles, dating back to the late 1000s. It certainly is very beautiful, and inside you can find lots of old and interesting books for sale.

We had a most enjoyable evening dining at this little gem of a place. We were welcomed with open arms and taken to the cosy lounge upstairs, where we took our time to study the choice of menu and the extensive wine list, during which, the young lady was most helpful in answering our questions etc. The food we were served, was simply delicious and very tasty, and most enjoyable to consume, washed down of course with our choice of wine, a perfect combination. Furthermore, the table service we received was absolutely perfect, we were not rushed in any way at all, so we were left to enjoy what the four of us, considered to be an exceptional dining experience.

Yet another of those buildings that Lincoln seems to be full of, old and full of history, although this one has more than its fair share.

A quiet environment served at a nice pace. Food is divine but tends to be a little small...saying that, the food is cooked to perfection. Would like music playing in the background so we didn’t need to whisper.

OK, so it's one if the oldest residential buildings in England. That's genuinely interesting, but once you've taken a photo, that's about how long you need to visit for.

The Jew's House is one of Lincoln's most attractive, and historic, buildings.
Set on a prominent widening in the street known as Steep Hill, the Jew's House of today is a restaurant. The neighbouring Jew's Court however offers a second-hand bookstore, which has a number of interesting, albeit small, sections. The staff are a little hidden away, but this is not always a bad thing.
I would probably pop in here again on a future visit to Lincoln, though you needn't venture inside to be able to take in the history of the structure.

The visit is essentially to see the outside of this 12th Century building which is now used for retail including a restaurant. Centuries ago it had been a Synagogue, Court and residence for on of England's main Jewish communities. On Steep Hill/ The Strait so part of this wonderful old street with so much of the old Lincoln intact and in use.
