Omg this place is the only place you need or should drink at in this Town.
The Drinks are expertly crafted quaffable and really really tasty the staff is knowledgeable and approachable and fast. Shout out to Tom who was my bartender for the night!
On a Monday night onna slow night he made me feel at home and looked after!
The back bar is crazy as well, not to talk about the beer selection, Jesus!
Everyone needs to go here, all the time!
They also have a great playlist of late 90s early 00s hip hop.
This place is everything you want and need in a bar.

Omg what an amazing place this bar is! Well worth the trot up the hill. The owner & staff are very welcoming and the drinks are a work of art as well as being delicious! Perfect place for a spot of people watching. Can't wait to return.

Have always had an excellent evening at this bar during my Uni days. Took my partner up from London last year and had a blast.
I contacted the team to see if they could help me create a craft beer strait crate curated to my partner for his birthday. They were very helpful, using his Untapped profile to inform the choices. My partner loved the box - the beers, and the treats. They even disguised it as a box of sweets so he wouldn't cotton on when it was delivered! Huge thanks to Jez and the team for such awesome service!
Amazing bar, amazing staff. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Me and a friend went for a drink last weekend, upon entering the door we was politely asked if we had face coverings. We politely stated that we are medically exempt, (This has never been a problem elsewhere, as other venues/shops know that they can’t question an exemption).
Straight away we was questioned by 2 young ladies that we need to show proof of exemption. I told them that legally we do not have to prove any of our medical information as it is against our personal privacy.
Eventually after being harassed by the staff for 2 minutes I got my 80p bit of cardboard from Amazon out of my pocket and it soon shut them up. You do not legally have to show that, as stated on the government website!
Me and my friend left feeling belittled and angry. So avoid this place as their staff are rude and invade on your medical privacy when they are not medical professionals, they are pint pullers.

I've lived in Lincoln a few years now and hadn't managed a visit here until recently. Now I know that real ale places can be snooty about anything that isn't that, but out of 18 taps on the bar, surely there's room for a half decent draught cider? The bottled options were really bad.
On a good note the wine is really good and very reasonably priced.
Also, I know the name is a pun based on the street it's on, but inside they really hammer home the word 'straight'. I guess that's the clientelle they want but as a gay couple it felt a little intimidating. The heteronormativity was strong...

Good selection of Belgian and continental beers on offer. We very much enjoyed having a pint of Kwak that reminded us of a previous trip to Bruges.
Really liked the atmosphere of this place and it made a great excuse to stop for "refreshments" before tackling Steep Hill to get back to our holiday apartment.

Going way too far wit hcovid rules. I understand the need for safety but we witnessed a lady being treat like a criminal because she was exempt from wearing a mask. We will not be returning and I really hope the lady in question takes legal advice

Rude staff who have no idea of the laws governing Equality and access. Demanding proof of medical mask exemptions is a direct violation and their treatment of someone with a disability is absolutely disgusting. Won't ever go back.

I witnessed a poor lady being harassed by staff for not wearing a face covering. She politely told them she was exempt but they said she couldn't enter. This is terrible behaviour, and although our food was good, the atmosphere was totally ruined by the rude staff.

I went to the Strait and Narrow when the Christmas market was on. The place was packed and had a good atmosphere and good music. The cocktails were excellent and original. The best thing however were the bar staff, in particular the ginger guy. He worked extremely quickly and skilfully each time I went up to the bar which was fun to watch. He was even taking more than one order at once so it ensured that it was the shortest wait time at a busy bar I have had. Will definitely go back.
