Combat Zone has been my favorite place to play paintball since I first went. The staff is super nice and helpful, the prices for paint and food are extremely cheap, and it is an amazing place to go with a group of friends for a party or meetup. Every time I go I can't wait to go again.

Went as part of an unofficial work day out. It was my first time paintballing and I was a little unsure at first, but the staff were accommodating (a lot of us got stuck in traffic as there are, at time of writing, a lot of roadworks in the Lincoln area en route to the site), friendly and helpful. The marshals encouraged fair play, explained rules and safety procedures clearly and with humour, and were supportive, providing extra paintballs, and resolving issues with faulty equipment. There was a small lunch (hotdogs and a carton of juice) prepared for the package deal we purchased (this included a vegetarian alternative), and tea/coffee/drinking water available between matches. Chocolate bars and energy drinks are also available for purchase, and there are suitable toilet facilities near the entrance of the site, next to the car park. The standard kit (paintball gun, 100 paintballs, overalls and face mask) was more than adequate, though upgrades/extra armour are available (I would recommend at least renting a pair of armoured gloves, but not so much the body armour, as one of our group opted for it but got rid of it after the first matches as she found it a little cumbersome. Instead, I would recommend wearing at least a couple of layers underneath the overalls - easier done in the winter months, admittedly). The day we chose was actually perfect weather - cold yet sunny, although access paths were very muddy, so bring a sturdy pair of boots, and spares for the journey there and back. Staff provided us with bags for muddy shoes and other items if required. It is a fairly cheap day out, however, be aware of purchasing extras (more paintballs, weapon upgrades, smoke bombs and paint grenades) which can rack up! (a few people were caught out, but fortunately we had a kind and understanding organiser.) Prices are clearly stated at the registration desk. There are no convenient public transport routes to the facility, however it is quite easy to find, around 20 minutes drive from the centre of Lincoln just off the A57 towards Newton-on-Trent, past Saxilby, Lincolnshire. Signage could be better in the lead-up to the facility (at the end of an 'off the beaten track' lane), but this might be because of my below-average navigation skills... For beginners or seasoned veterans, I would definitely recommend this place for large groups (work-related 'team-building' events, stag/hen parties, or just good old-fashioned days out, like ours), though be careful if you are on a budget. If you have strict dietary requirements, it may be advisable to bring your own lunch, which you can store in a locker where easy access is available on request. Get out there, have fun, and ignore anyone who tries to take it too seriously! :)

Came here for full day with friends. Can get very pricy depending on how much you shoot! The games and areas were very good and so were the staff, but only gave a hotdog for lunch which I couldn't eat :(

Thank you for your review and we hope you had a good time. In your review you stated that it can get pricey and you should bring food. You came on the £5 February offer which included entry for the full day we 14 games, equipment, 100 paintball's and a light lunch. The lunch was an 8 inch hot dog, crisps and drink with free tea and coffee. Although we would like to have offered you more for your £5, we do have to strike a balance between keeping the game fees as low as possible, but still providing our excellent levels of services. We have considered trying to offer a larger lunch, but this would ultimately increase the site fees and running around after a heavy lunch could prove impractical. As for the cost of shooting paintballs. Generally on a day, most players would shoot around 600-700 paintball's (this is always stated to all clients when they book), but some people can get very trigger happy. Currently we charge £5 per 100 balls which is lower than the average of £7-£8 per 100 as charged by our competitors. This means for an average player on a full day with the necessary paintballs, equipment and lunch the total cost would be around £30 which we consider to be excellent value. I have taken on board your comments and will always be open to suggestions where it comes to giving our clients the best value for money.

This was my first time paintballing and it was really good fun.I went with a group of work mates and we spent most of a day there. The site is really well run and all the equipment needed was provided along with an ample supply of paintballs though you can buy more if you are a little trigger happy.they also have paint grenades and smoke grenades available to buy if you feel the need.As we were there for a day we got lunch included,it was just a burger but it was very tasty - compliments to the chef, and free hot drinks were available throughout the day. I would have to say that I think the best thing about this site is the staff who really are excellent. They are very friendly, helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. They are an asset to the company. So all in all a great day, give it a try.
