This gallery has quite a mixture of exhibits, I especially liked the old paintings of Lincoln. Some of the modern items were not to my taste, but that's just a matter of opinion.

It seems almost sacrilegious to say that a museum/art gallery etc. Is just 'average' so OK, sorry. I'm sorry that the modernistic, sterile presentation got in the way of enjoying some really interesting artefacts and invaluable pieces of the local - indeed, international- history. Sadly, the place was virtually deserted but this is understandable as it really does need to... More

Having seen all the main Lincoln highlights during our 3 day city break, we had a few hours to spend on our last day. So we headed for the Usher Gallery and The Collection and we pleased to find a well-presented art collection and interesting museum in two buildings close to one another up Danesgate. The Usher Gallery is housed... More

Perhaps not so quiet if a party of school-children are about. But fascinating to walk round what ever the weather, with a good coffee shop as well. Well worth wiling an hour or so away.

Visiting Lincoln on a whirlwind trip, came across the Usher Gallery and the Collection. What a wonderful place. Was welcomed by staff who were interesting, enthusiastic and knowledgable . Thoroughly enjoyed walking round looking at the varied collections, including stunning portraits, watches-displayed with mirrors so you can see the back. The murder mystery idea may appeal to a variety of... More

We often go to the Collection, or/and the Usher gallery. I have been visiting the usher gallery as long as i can remember. Sometimes we go to see old favourites, such as the cow creamer collection, or the De Wints, and sometimes to see whatever new exhibition is showing. it has improved so much over the years, although it was...
